You have an aftermarket adjustable top sprocket. Maybe it sits further in?

You mean the exposed fibre/thread on parts of the edge of the belt?

I think that's normal, just how they are manufactured.

What does it run like with engine running?, I've seen many belts run with slight "walk" back and forth as through the belt wasn't manufactured perfectly true, if that makes sense...

And the belt is directional. Look for the arrow.

I turned over the belt manually with a wrench on the crank. Then it when it a bit , but i believe its different with engine running or with a wrench . I understand how you mean. The thing is that my belt was outside the cam sprocket. Like 2mm that can not be correct ,, or ?? Cant start it now, im doing maintence on the wiring and redoing the exhaust system from 3,5 to 3 inch.

It lines up with the water pump and the tensioner so it is not further in i believe.

Have you got the “diamond coated washer” where it should be behind the bottom pulley?

Have not yet takdn it a part. If its missing , should the belt not go closer to the block ?

I’m not sure, maybe if it’s further in at the bottom it makes it further out at the top? I have no evidence to back that up though! lol

So , i got the parts. Water pump skf and bearing. And a gates cam belt. Now i got these 2 tools but the dont fit. Will make my own , but i still dont under stand how to lock the tool ,, se my drawing. The tool for ABY looks similar. But a bit modified. I saw ultra performance have them for aby with fluid damper.
Its a 2084 and it seems that they dont work for a fluid damper.

If you have a snub mount spare, you can bolt it to the block then your tool works perfectly.

What do you mean with snub mount ? The tool 2084 looking tool does not reach for enough in to lock it properly. I can make my tools i need. But thanks anyway. Is that aluminium insex that is for the tensioner strong enough ?

For earlier engines, inc 7A, 3B the snub mount is different (which is why your tool doesn't fit), if you have an earlier snub mount then you can bolt it on to your block and your tool will then work, it is much longer than the ABY snub.
