Does it losen off the spring when you adjust it? if so.... do you get an noticeable side effects? less/more lag?
Yes James,
it does impact on how you adjust it.
I got told to adjust it rather soft than hard to get it to perform optimum. I tried to adjust it a little and feel the diffrence, but on my old "ketchup setup" it was imossible to notice, and on the current setup, I feel a little earlier boost on WOT and easier to boost from lower revs.
On half throttle it has little to non effect i think.
Forge 007 for me, i wanted one thats servicable and more reliable than the plastic bosch valve.
Can i add although i have an s2 airbox with K&N panel filter the Forge is not silent as some people think.
I can hear it dumping obviously not as loud as a VTA valve but just something to think about

So if you change the standard dv, is there any setting up that's needed on an aftermarket one?
I see the Forge 007 comes with 4 springs to match your boost level - what's all this about?
(sorry - I know a fair bit about engines but the S2 is my first turbocharged car - AND I LOVE IT !!!)
You can then buy a "tuning kit", which comprises 4 different coloured springs of varying strength and some washers, to alter the characteristics of the DV.
If you use the standard setup, it should just be "plug and play"...

hmmm...not so sure about that - as I'm usually in the "plug and pray" camp, I would wait until someone who knows what they're talking about comes along

The thing with the S3 one you'll end up replacing it, with an alloy piston one you can service them. Classic case of save now pay later or pay now save later.
