Had to try and fix a boost leak today, found it though. The DV I have which has a pipe screw into the side had unscrewed itself

I've been using a Dahlback DV.DBR.B25.2 for several years, never had the slightest issue, sounds like the dogs ********, especially with their complete intake kit...great service and their track record with monster I5 builds speaks for itself....

If it's chirping like an S1 then the spring is too tight and you're getting turbo stall, not healthy. From the GFB setup booklet I had, you should have the spring as loose as possible whilst still getting good respons on/off the throttle.

Oh lordy! My head is spinning now! I have a Milltek valve, never really done anything to it apart from fitting it! Now getting overboost symptoms with no fault codes, most annoying as i've only just had it "Homefried". Just got a boost leak test kit off AndyP, picking my mechanic up from Manny airport tomorrow aft, guess what he'll be learning to play with real soon?! I thought you couldnt vent to atmosphere with a standard setup S2?

VTA makes an S2 run like crap. I've used a hybid GFB valve, you can vent a small % of air to atmosphere and keep it running nice, not a cheap item though.

I don't think overboost protection will happen with a weak DV, leaking one maybe.

Don't use a vented to atmosphere valve unless it's a dual valve one that is specifically for MAF cars.

The problem with them is they are o.k venting but on idle or any manifold vacuum they suck in unmetered air post the MAF and the ECU doesn't have a clue about it.

You need a 'twin piston' design, not a single piston type (a la Cosworth / RS). Twin piston has the vacuum line to the top of the valve as well as a spring.

atmospheic all the way. maf or no maf. get rid of that hot boosted air.

i bought the forge double action one, that can be used both as a DV and a dump valve to try out...I will let you know of any differences

I run a Agency Power DV-Bov. Adjustable, so dosent open at idle when set in bov mode. Works nicely.
