I'll see if I can notice a difference in the 7A and ABY exhaust cams I have lying in the garage.

For the record, a generic chip upgrade (aka 'homefry') on the ABY gives 280bhp peak power and 430Nm peak torque. The generic 3B upgrade is a little less at 270bhp and 410Nm, but the lower weight of the 3B evens them out on paper.

I'm 99% sure that the cam pulley on the RS2 is different than the S2 - didn't SAL find this to be the case on his conversion ?

7A and RS2 cams work fine in the 3B or ABY engines, as long as you don't use the RS2 pulley. Am fairly sure the RS2 timing belt has different teeth spacing, and therefore water pump as well - maybe someone with ETKA can confirm or deny please !!!

The pulleys look identical to me. Both have two marks on the back,

                Thanks Sal,

I cant clearly see the timing mark on the wheel to the right, but as you say they do look the same, including the tooth spacing.

Thats funny I just noticed on the pics Sal posted, that there is no 'cast in' Woodruff key, but a machined slot. I seem to remember someone posting that that woodruff is cast as part of the pulley  .

Sal - can you take a picture of the rear of the pulleys - like my one I took - so I can see if they are the same as mine?

Paul - does the generic homefry automatically cope with, say, replacing the cams with 7As, or should it be re-fried for that specific motor in order to work better with the new cams? Do you think the MTMed ECU would work any different?

How many extra horses would a 3B that is already stage1 fried gain with the 7As do you think?
