RS2'ed 3B motor: What's the DV of choice for the 360 HP range?
RS2'ed 3B motor: What's the DV of choice for the 360 HP range?
Producing about 28 psi of boost with my set up. Is the 710N a suitable variant? Other options like Forge or the Bosch 110 sport valve?
Also looking for similar advice on the N75 WGFV. I've read somewhere that the 'H' part number is the best out of the 4 or 5 versions of the valve. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks,
Ben

710n from the RS6 is strongest iirc. But ether way if you want something different and longer lasting you could go for a forge valve or turbosmart etc etc.
There is plenty of choices out there, all depends on your budget really..
The stock N75 is fine according to most tuners, there is only very small differences between the different letters, mainly orientation of the connector.
You can also use a Trbosmart WGFV or build your own, there is threads on here about it.
Forge 007 is a good option for the money although the sealing on the piston is just metal on metal between inlet and outlet. GFB do some really sweet DVs too. There's also the APR R1 diaphragm valve, American product so should be good money.c

That does sound like alot of psi ,is this set up fine at that pressure i get worried when it goes about 22psi
Is it the map which dictates what pressure you run obviously the turbo has to be capable .

Ben: I was going to point you to the article. It was from European Car mag. lskolnick on AudiWorld had posted it as four jpgs but he has apparently pulled them down (Red X's).
The 034 906 283H is for the C4 AAN UrS cars. "K" is for the RS2 ADU and the S2 ABY. The J was for the 3B. The article indicated that the H was best. I am running a K on my RS2'd AAN but, to be honest, there was very little difference and I have been thinking about going back to the H.
I'm going to be in Calgary on the night of Oct. 28th. I have emailed Dave with the RS2 and am hoping to get together with you and him and ?? somwhere in downtown Calgary.

From what I've seen, brand new 710N's last less than a few months when running 1.6bar, so with 1.9bar+, I'd go for a Forge 007 or similar.
Make sure your ignition system is working properly, with the 11mm rotor and change to the metal dizzy gear of it still got the plastic one. Ignition firing off at the wrong instant has killed numerous of these engines.

Thanks Dave. I think I'll go with the H. I'm pretty sure I saw the article you mentioned.
Ironically, it looks like I'll be in Vancouver next weekend. If not, I'll be sure to join you and Dave and a few others. Are you in Calgary often?

Thanks. Sounds like good advice. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the proper rotor for the 3B is 10mm. Already have the brass dizzy gear.

Remember to get the right spring for the 007. With that boost I would use the red (spring ranges from green yellow blue red, low to high boost. At least when I got my 007 a few years ago).

I've gone for one of these for my 3B RS2+ project. Got it for south of a £100 from the bay of thieves, they are more like £300 full list price. Just visually examining it's obviously far superior quality than say a Forge or Bailey and I have no doubt it will work just as sweet as it looks. Fully adjustable recirc/atmos dump and adjustable for attack speed as well. Won't be long now until it's on the car as my project has been progressing nicely of late.
