We seems to have almost the same results. I used a industrial gauge to check the pressure:

    £100

    Painful!

Check it with a proper gauge if you are worried. If you had really low oil pressure your top end would make a racket you would know about it!
    Confirmed.

Race technologies sensor with Dash 2 read different to stock so i got a mechanical gauge and tested it

some did check with a proper gauge. so we are trying to understand if the readings are normal for these engines or the rumor of 1.8bar at idle is a misunderstanding

Our standard ABY's shown that since we bought it in 2002 (and it's still going strong), the RallyRep's AAN does very similar too...

10v's tend to make stronger oil pressure at idle, but even that's below 3 bar hot.

That's reassuring Ross as your engine is also fully rebuilt!

The engine has 1,100 miles on it and the oil pump is refurbished. I can't remember what it was before the change but I figure that with a new filter and everything cleaned out perhaps there's a small drop as a result.

I've just changed from 10W-40 mineral to 10W-50 Titan Pro S and haven't noticed a real change in pressure...

Something I'll keep an eye on, especially when I get some sustained thrashing, but it's well above the 0.3bar idle / 1.8bar 2000rpm warning levels and from reading this thread seems pretty normal.

It is just possible that a very low oil level may cause this condition but a tow truck is gonna be the least expensive way home.
