how does the car run when you have 0 boost? I had this once on my first S2, and it was just the hose to the gauge that had come of. it meant 0 boost on gauge and less power, but no hesitation or juddering or so. The reason you only get 1,6 bar boost instead of your previous 2,0 bar is what Rusty is saying i would think. On my inca orange S2 i had a 26/27 and i ran 1,9 bar without problems. a worn out WG made it boost 2,3 bar once... Let´s just say that i have never let off the throttle that fast ever.

yes friend, but you surelly was using a good custom map for this turbo, not for the RS2 turbo true or not??

the gauge hose... should be fine, because if not, always will shows bad boost values in every gears...not only in 4th and 5th gears, and i can feel perfectly how i lose a lot of power in one second after 3 / 4 seconds in WOT.....

what were you thinking going wot on all gears on a bigger turbo with the same map?
only i was testing a try Gary

Rocco : It's actually a bad idea to try different hardware on different mapped setups. Expecially puting it to the redline.

ANother thing could be that the larger turbo cannot produce the boost where the ECU is asking for it (so to speak).
yes it can be,because the same "chips" i was runing them with the original turbo (k24 7000) in the past ,with the 300kpa sensor and the smaller turbo "only" loaded 1.7bar in 5th gear and 1.5bar in 3rd ¡¡¡ and later ,after the upgrades to RS2 step the same chips worked with 2,0bar in 5th gear and 1.8bar in 3rd ¡¡

this chips can be used with k24 7000 + original injectors or k24 7200 + RS2 injectors... it is true¡¡ various men in spain with S2 3B were or are using them with stock turbo and injectors, and the AFR values are always nice¡¡

and now with the larguer k26/27.... there are problems i see... now these chips are useless for this turbo

I actually don't really think you have a software problem.
It should run fine with RS2 software, if the turbo can boost 1.9 bar.

                  this chips can be used with k24 7000 + original injectors or k24 7200 + RS2 injectors
This is wrong. Injector change requires remap.
The reason this works is that people use an adjustable FPR and get the same number with both injectors.

Maybe you are sucking the MAF hose flat

What airbox and filter are you running? Standard MAF to turbo hose? or silicon?

the people i meet with these chips and stock turbo uses always the same FPR,3B one¡

and you can use these chips too with RS2 turbo + RS2 injectors + 4bar FPR...it need these changes

it was extrange for me too heard it.... but since i drove the 2 kinds od hardware with the same chips....i dont doubt it anymore¡

                        but yes...you have reason

in theory my turbo should boost more than 1.6bar,and my chips worked perfectly with 2.0bar with RS2 Turbo.... it is extrange, and dangerous, i will forget it

                        many thanks for the helps¡

Rocco, you need to contact Hoffer if it's one of his hybrids. That Turbo needs a carefully mapped ECU. Very bad idea in my opinion driving the car flat out with the wrong maps. What injectors are you using by the way?

yes it is from Richard (hoffer76),with 360º bearing upgrade. i did not know nothing about a carefully mapped, but i imagine it

i am using now RS2 injectors

we dont know for whem Richard could have ready a basic software for 3B owners with k26/27 , i would like to try them¡ but the time is up for my engine¡¡

                              Ahh, that's a pain.

I know he has very good maps for ABY's and is a very knowledgeable guy. Your RS2 injectors will be fine, take it you have a decent 3" down pipe and a minimum of an RS2 inter-cooler fitted as well as your'll need both.

What you really need is a custom map by the sounds of it, not going to be cheap but will be worth it. I have the same cost looming for my 3B set up.

As I mentioned before make sure your ignition system is in perfect condition, as the 26/27 hybrids will really push a stock bottom end and we have the dreaded spark hop to contend with our 3Bs.

I would drive the car off boost if I were you till you get it sorted.

really not convinced the software is problem sounds more like boost cut initiated by ecu as a failsafe.

check again for boost leaks or sensor issues.
