Hi, I removed the downpipe bending a 15mm spanner, and it was easy

I did it in two steps

    First 90ยบ

It isn't enought clearance to unscrew the bolt

More hot and the second step

    And the result was this

    Cheers

Cheers for that, I kinda assumed that was the best way of doing it. I was just checking that there wasnt any crafty way of doing it. The 3 sprung bolts on the end of the downpipe are pretty corroded and may not handle being undone.

Yeah thats what I have done, Unbolted the sprung nuts and bolts, this allowed me to wiggle it about a bit and get better access.
The Turbo is now off and im cleaning all the pipes ready for my shiny new one. :-)

Get a 3" DP, you can do it in a few minutes with a spanner and a 1/4 drive socket set

If someone has any advice then please let me know, I havent got my skin on my nuckles left. lol
I use a FACOM semi-deep socket, a universal joint, a long extension and gimbal-head ratchet from the rear of the engine bay.

Best thing to do is unplug the injectors and crank sensor and turn the engine over to build up oil pressure.

Mr Reeve is now shipping an even thinner-walled nut that takes a 14mm spanner.
