    OK, cool

Ideally, you'd have enough wire on the connectors to then be able to crimp the other ends. If we can sort out a parts list and make sure that wires are the right length, I'll have a look into it, as I'd prefer mine to be tip-top and I'm sure that others not wanting to convert would like the same too

So, going from what I've just done -
          • 5 off coil plugs with black and yellow wires sticking out (750mm min for cyl 1)
          • 2 off 3 pin male white plugs (connect to yellow wires)
          • 5 off male crimp connectors (for white plugs)
          • 1 off 3 pin female black plug (connect to black wires & black POS)
          • 1 off 3 pin female brown plug (connect to black wires & brown POS)
          • 5 off female crimp connectors
          • 3 off straight rubber boot
          • 1 off 90 deg rubber boot

Earth lead = brown wire + 2 ring connectors (M6)

There's also then all the harness protection and heat protection sleeving - I'm not really sure that the heat protection does much, as it was all kaput on mine anyway

I think that pretty much covers it... anything that I've missed

Just need to populate the part numbers now and get prices...

Oh, and she started first time, so I must have rebuilt the plugs correctly! I was kacking it when I turned the key...

Here we go then. Forgive me if I've missed anything but I'm trying to fit this in between phone calls and whipping the troops to actually sell some parts!! Let's call it a first pass.

This is based on items I can supply hence the repair wires instead on terminal pins.

The coils come with trailing leads on them but the length isn't specified on my system. I've ordered one for observation purposes so will measure it on Monday. In fact I've ordered all of the bits just for this purpose. There are a couple on back order so it will be around a week. The earth lead is a locally made loom so you need to make it up with a length of wire and a couple of ring terminals.

Here are the part numbers and prices so far:

              Code:
              Part Number	Description Retail Forum
              ------------------------------------------------------
              443 906 247	WHITE 3PIN CONNECTOR 3.65 3.47 EACH
              000 979 103 E	REPAIR WIRE FOR ABOVE 1.77 1.68 EACH
              443 906 233	POS CONNECTOR 6.04 5.74 EACH
              000 979 133 E	REPAIR WIRE FOR ABOVE 1.77 1.68 EACH
              443 906 102 B	STRAIGHT RUBBER BOOT 3.25 2.57 EACH
              443 906 102 C	90º RUBBER BOOT 3.25 2.57
All prices are each and exc. VAT

I did the same job years ago on my S2. On the heat protection I used glass fibre weave heat resistant hose. It's rated to 400ºC. It comes in 1500mm lengths and various diameters. I used various diameters to try and cover all of the cables but I don't know how well it has faired as I haven't inspected it in a while and the car is now in bits. It can be found in the exciting electrical catalogue in KATE, illustration 979-20, item 3 (scroll down past insulating hose and foam tube)

Cheers Ben, good to start putting numbers and costs to it all...

Are the coil plugs not available separately?

£55 so far for what's posted...

One way is to go to the top left pull down that lists the models and scroll all the way to the bottom of the list. There about three or four up from the bottom you will find "EL", which is for electrical. There you will find all the single electrical parts.

I'm not sure what you mean by coil plugs. The coil wires are terminate at the POS plugs or the other two white plugs.

Where the wires connect to the coils... Looks like a plug which locks to the coil pack.

The wires are part of the coils. When the new one arrives on Monday I'll take a pic as well as measuring it.

Ah right, that's a bit of a ****** then, as the wires going into the coils are every bit as knackered as the rest of the loom which is under the cover...

There appears to be a cover on the coil, where the wires enter, it's got a couple of locking tabs on it. Be great if you can add some pictures of it all when you have the parts.

FWIR, I expect the coils are somewhat £££?

Sit down Andy, Ben will be back with the price of a coil pack soon. (A set of coil packs will be more than a set of tyres)

When I did the coil packs on mine the new ones came with a resin in the back. I'll let you have the price before I sign off for the weekend.
