    00561 and low boost

Having a issue with low boost and sometimes get the 00561 code.
Not been working with the S2 for a long time so decided to get it on the rollers to check fueling etc as the last time it was on the Dyno it was running lean due to a faulty injector.

With injector replaced, new HRC 255 fuel pump and FPR
Figures looked good apart from seeing only 1bar of boost.
Talked about the fault code and checked voltage on Lambda while at idle and it was showing .05 - .75v
Have a new Lambda to fit but even with the fault cleared I cannot get full boost and feel it is something like a sensor holding it back?

Garage also did a boost leak check using smoke to check for leaks.
They suggested as the fault code did not appear on the power run that possibly the waste gate spring is to fault for the low boost?

    Checks Ive carried out prevously

    Boost leak check at 1bar
Checked hose in ecu to VmapD
    checked alt sensor in vagcom
    unplugged MFTS
    checked plugs
    checked waste gate seal
    Checked throttle Pot

    Checks to do

    Replace Lambda
Unplug WGFV to check I get 0.4bar

    Any thoughs or suggestions

    Cheers

    Steve

Just to be clear, the meaning of the 00561 code

2413 (Blink Fault Code), 00561 VAG1551/2 Fault Code Number
    Mixture Adjustment,
Adaptation limit exceeded, Adaptation limit not reached, Leakage in exhaust system before 3 Way catalytic converters, Incorrect signal for Mass Air Flow Sensor, Spark plugs, ignition coil(s), or Ignition Coil Power output stage malfunctioning
Symptom: Rich mixture, increased fuel consumption

    **********

Typically this occurs when there is a boost leak after the turbo and before the engine. Less air shows up at the intake than the ECU had expected so there is too much fuel injected into the cylinders. Via the O2 lambda sensor, the ECU tries to adjust the fuel down but the air leak is too much and it can not adjust the fuel down enough. Solution = find and fix boost leak.

Other potential issues = MAF sensor and O2 sensor.

    Good luck

Yea I seen your post and though I would replace the FPR to see if that helped but no change.
It was the (mul) not reached I was getting

        1 Fault Found
        00561 - Mixture Adaptation
13-00 - Adaptation Limit (Mul) Not Reached

Don't scratch your head, re-read my post and look for boost leaks (despite what the smoke test indicated, you likely have a split hose that only opens under boost, say 1 Bar, pressure).

This might be another case of the R201 resistor!
Are you using RS2 S/W in a ABY ecu without a change in the resistor?

LOL. Not likely the cause, even if true.

Have you measured compression? Are you sure one cylinder is not gone?

good checks all of the above, however, im with those that say boost leaks, and also check for any vaccum hoses that may have gone, clean the MAF if dirty, check the ISV hoses as they tend to go and create a boost leak.

from memory, lamda would also come up if lamda was at fault as well, but i may be mistaken.

                    boost leak test on rs2

i had similar problem running rich and boost leaks, prj told me to pressure check inlet manifold and pipes
to back of manifold and to fpr found 3 small leaks using soap spraying from a bottle after 1bar pressure its the best way to find small leaks , also check turbo hoses again using the same method.

Another variable is the Vmap! Are you 100% on the jumper settings for the S/W.

When you changed the injector, did you just change the one that was faulty? I'd always fit injectors as a flow matched set.

Have done a pressure test to 1bar with diving bottle and only problem I could find was air escaping out the ISV electrical connection end. I changed it out for another which was better but still formed small bubbles at 1bar

ECU work was done by S2 central including setting up VMAP also it has boosted correctly before but had other issues with injectors and bad coils etc

I had the car on a dyno a year ago and the guy didint want to push it due to it going lean?
He suggested fuel filter and possible dodgy spray pattern on injectors
I then changed fuel filter and found I was getting a black plug on number one cylinder
I started changing coils etc but it turned out to be the injector
I did do a compression test earlier this year they were all pretty equal at about 11bar

I did clean the MAF and checked connection, renewed all hoses with 4mm silicone at the back of the intake manifold
also Ive seen other posts that included the Lambda fault code but when the guy tested the voltage pulse on my lambda probe he said it was a bit low so decided to fit one.

Yes only changed one, Had the injectors tested and cleaned but even after that one was found to be at fault.
