If the car as been in naives mechanics.... and you have no VAG errors.
I would check that the timing belt it's fixed in the "one tooth off the mark" proper to the ADU motor, together with a thorough check on the water pump (specific to the ADU) and timing belt (specific as well to the ADU)

Hey Stefano, the timing is as it should, I gave the mechanic info off the forum.

Well I dropped my turbo off to Steve Murch from Motor Sport Engineering up in Auckland yesterday. He inspected the turbo there and then, something I wasnt expecting. In his opinion (like you guys) the overspeed claim by the guy who rebuilt the turbo is BS. In his opinion the nut on the shaft wasnt torqued up correctly and thats the reason for the failure. Its great to met someone here in New Zealand that seems to know what they are talking about. Like a lot of you guys he said the safety protocols would have stopped the car from over boasting. I was up front and honest with him and showed him a photo of the kinked vac pipe leading to the ECU. He laughed and said if they are trying to pin it on that then they are a joke. I have a huge smile on my face since someone in NZ shares the same opinion as those in the know on the S2 Forum!
I hope to get a written report from him on Friday, then Im off to the MTA. Wish me luck!

Well that is good news Nik. On the other hand, I don't know if we can stop RS2 owners from "over boasting".

Sorry. It was just there and I have no will power.

                  An update to this thread.
I have my turbo report back:

Ive been and showed it to the bloke that rebuilt my turbo but he isnt keen on coming to the party.

Im now about to take him to the MTA www.mta.co.nz

                  Wish me luck

Hope you nail him for this. Its not fair he ruined your turbo with poor workmanship! Good luck

                      Nik,

that was a long way around a short road.

you should have taken the turbo from him initially and gone straight to an independent turbo analyser.

fingers crossed the MTA can help you, if not, i really think you should pay him a visit yourself.

It's a shame people don't just hold their hands when they've made mistakes they would get much more out of it. Human nature I suppose, maybe he genuinely feels it wasn't his fault, sad thing is he will more likely go on to do it in the future unless he takes this on board, Frustrating to say the least.
