Yep, I'd most interested to hear how that works out, if it's a good match that would be fantastic.

Isn't there a Porker with a near identical MAF?

968 is apparently the same as an RS2 maf, which is electronically the same an S2 maf but was £470 from porsche in 2011

ABY guys can just get PRJs hot film MAF conversion for a reasonable price so they are sorted.

      3Bs need a solution....

Poo, even more expensive again is getting ridiculous, that's if the Porsche part is even available.

3B's are crying out for a solution!!!

Been reading up a bit more about this. It seems that Volvo is maybe not the only matching part but also SAAB and even the Ferrari F50 MAF. We know the S2 MAF (0-280-213-007) has the closer knit wire cover and the RS2 MAF (0-280-213-017) has the less dense plastic cover which looks like it would not restrict flow as much. Bizarrely, the Ferrari part looks like it has the S2 version cover which seems odd as surely the less restricted flow version would be more useful for a high HP car like an F50. I am tempted to buy a good 2nd hand Saab/Volvo unit to see how it works. If it is fine, then buying a new unit would be a huge saving for us 3b owners. If anyone has an old knackered RS2 unit, I would be interested in buying it so I could blag the less restrictive cover off it. There are also places where you can have them reconditioned with more modern tech wires. Not sure how costly or effective that would be though.

If you're about to chip you car, you could consider the cheaper RS4 MAF maybe ?

Not 100% sure what involved in fitting it though.

Haven't got the info to make it and a GTX3071 .82 fit on my car. If anyone has I'd be appreciative.

            Back on topic.

Can the RS4 conversion MAF be fitted to a 3b? I was considering bigger turbo, injectors etc and probably an engine overhaul to futureproof the power but it isn't quite happening at the moment.

Hilariously, I might try financing it with a new Night Vision rabbit shooting venture. I have picked up a couple more permissions with LOADS of rabbits and have found a reptile/falconry feeding company that will buy as many rabbits off me as I can shoot. Thinking I should be able to cover the cost of huge engine rebuild towards the end of the year rather than dipping in to house savings etc. Will be a fun way of doing it. So then, how did you pay for your 500bhp S2? Well you know, I shot 7500 rabbits ha ha. That is a lot of gutting.

Might be worth checking current price/availability with this guy

3 years ago he charged £150 for an ABY MAF. Although it was not actually 'new' as claimed on his website, it came in a box that said 'remanufactured by Bosch'

I'd be perfectly happy with Bosch recondition units as long as they don't cost £300 odd quid, buy 2 at that price and you may as well change to coils packs/ABY ECU and do the RS4 MAF conversion.

Cottis, I like your Rabbit shooting idea.

I tried several places for a new MAF last year, several Bosch agents, dealers, qc, ebay and emission controls, no where could get one. Eventually got a new one from TPS after some hunting around by Ben, which was apparently one of the last available. I now have a small collection of used MAF's and one practically new one. It's just another S2 part that it's advisable to stockpile! Being an S2 owner is like preparing for Armageddon!! Piles of used parts because any time they could go NLA!
