I do my best, and if it were up to me, I worked all weekend but I have to keep my girlfriend happy so i hope that at the end of next week the car is ready for mapping vems on the road
i have got a good deal with a forum member with those parts
audi coupe quattro b2 2.2 20vt project (573hp-626nm)
TWINCHARGED power,zero lag
AEM W/M injection
almost ready
today i made the airguide and i have post some pictures of my sump protection because in a previous thread i had oilpressure problems so i lowerd the bottom and have now 1.5l extra oil, problem solved
I have a question about a gt3076r,the ballbearing turbo turns smoothly so afther shut the engine off it running afther what's normal but you can hear a sound the bearings
quite well untill it's stops
is this normal??
today a placed a heat protection on the inside of the hood
afterwards I started driving on the road to program VEMS but my oiltemp was to fast to high and that was pity so i came back to home
with my rs2 setup was everything normal
it is possible that this is because I have the oil and water pipes bonded together under the exhaust manifold? sie pictures
Here in Belgium is today 25 degrees, not so ideal to tune the car but normally
the car must be able to drive with this temperature
with a few pulls half throttle i had 120°c oil temp and i thought that 130°c was the max so I did not want to take risks
but to make sure that my oil temperature gauge is correct, I have ordered a new temp sender

I can get my NA 7A engine up to 130C quite easily, though it has no cooler, with a cooler I guess there is a thermostat, do you know when this opens (if you have one)?
yes,i have a Mercedes oilcooler,sie post 17 pic 9
all the 20vt engine have oil coolers with thermostat in oilfilterhouse
and the thermostat works because the oilcooler gets hot

Move the wires somewhere else than on the chassis leg under the turbo. I had mine there in a heat protective sheath and they caught fire on the track.
Seems like you aren't really sure if you have a problem or not? I woul dget out there and drive it harder and harder, until it gets over the 130C mark, if it does of course. If it does then if you are really worried it is just an oil change and you are away. IIRC 130C is just where oil starts to break down, not when it actually completely loses all lubrication properties.
Oil will get a LOT hotter in other parts of the engine, the oil temp sender is really only measuring the sump value, not right by the combustion process for example.
