Yeh, sorry. Most of my posts that refer to wire colours are AAN colours. Many times they work for ABYs and ADUs but not always. As Nick has pointed out, the 3B (and maybe ABY/ADU) have different colours in this case.

        Thanks

Can't understand why it has toasted the 324 yet again. OK it probably had some work with the roadtrip in Corsica last year where we did quite a lot of stops on the way, and it was +30°C... but that should make it fry up again so soon.

There are 2 contact points that have cracked, will try resoldering them because the rest seems fine.

This is a picture from my old relay 324, and now it is again the same spot (those 2 solder joints) that has burned.

you can see where the burned soldering points go? perhaps to one of the connecting pins?

The component that burns out is the white 2 legged one.

It says ITT and 7PY on it's body, so it's something else than a resistance.
Probably also the component that fails on everybody's 324 relays...

If it would be known what it is exactly, replacing it could save the +90€ dealerprice.

The white one, you can just read that it says ITT

Cleaned up the rear of the board and it clearly is only that component that went out, all the rest is perfect.

                  Probably "ITT 7YP" = HE501N37YP4 (whatever that is )

Cheers, would be cool to find a way to repair these.

btw it's Avantus instead of Advantus

Its a zener diode that has catastrophically failed.

Hmm a zener diode failed due to excessive heat (having to work too long maybe?) results in a shorted diode, and not open.

Maybe the collector-emitter junction of the TO-126 packaged Darlington transistor has gone short circuit causing the zener diode to fail s/c.
