i just wonder if the aby adu blocks are the same and moast people run rs2 setup on aby..
can i put the timing belt and waterpump of the aby on adu block?
waterpump at audi tradition for the rs2 cost 303,30euros...
And why the pump is so expensive? Ok and that will work? Dont want to scrap the block.. so i will buy only the timing belt from tradition for the rs2 and the rest of aby?
Like a lot of the parts for our cars now, they are so expensive because companies feel they deserve to make extortionate amounts of profit from the fact we are willing to pay to keep our pride and joys on the road

We need to shame Audi by either telling it to their faces which i will do at this years Audi Driver International on their corporate truck and or turn our backs on them. There are far more exclusive english cars with a far far better pedigree in which the prices are way less than half and even 1/8 equivalent audi prices reference bushes and suspension parts.I mean hello..... just who do they think they are? Audi,s never make big money just the UR quattro and even then only a snippet on some of my favorite Jaguars/Daimlers.And yet the £100,000.00 E type suspension parts nice and cheap. My plans have changed for sure now because of their ridiculous prices.
Why doesn't one of the more tech savvy forum members start a petition to hand to them?

Because they are for a rs2
They spin a bit quicker and alter the timing a little
As Jamo Said or if your car is not a RS2 just go the ABY/ ANN way
Neither, what you do is buy the ABY pump, pull the front wheel from the RS2 pump and press it onto the new ABY pump

Only If the car we're talking its an RS2 with ADU otherwise this is useless.
You can buy an ABY pump even better if you go for an OEM with a metal impeller i.e. GRAF.
Then take off the pulley from the original ADU pump with the proper tool take off the pulley from the new ABY pump.
Then press the ADU pulley on the new ABY pump and you'll end up with a new pump with better quality and reliability due to the metal impeller.
I've done this three times so far saving big money (GRAF ABY pump 45€)
Had a bit of discussion with someone on the "secret group of RS2 owners" on Facebook few days ago regarding this...
Ending on someone laughing on me and stating that the expensive RS2 water pump was developed by Audi and Porsche engineers and who I was to think I could do something like that....
Yes Audi and Porsche engineers the same guys that left the timing marks unchanged making hundreds of owners wandering with their timing setting..... Not very German is'nt it?
Well I believe that in few years time people that are not curious to find (working) alternative solutions will encounter many problems to keep their RS2 on the road....
People ready to spend ludicrous money for an RS2 MAF instead of swapping case with an ABY one or (seems but not yet confirmed?) Volvo one.
About the pulleys swap bear in mind that it's better to have it done by a skilled mechanic if you are not sure how to do it, once seen it the first time it was easy for me.
Need more info about adu water pump.I remember something is different compared to aan/aby.Give me more details and i will buy skf aftermarket one and compare with your data and the aan pumps i have in my garrage.
Ok.The rear of the pump is the same?I imagine less teeth more speed it gets=more flow.I will order skf and check.
I am curious if they had a real problem with cooling or it is just a safe measure taken to prevent heating. Will also check FIA homologation papers for group b rally cars to see what were they using.Maybe i can spot in a photo the number of teeth of the pump.
Turbo I5 engines have a real problem with tdc bore wear.Never managed to put all data together to find out the problem.I have some thoughts:
-weak casting in the bore/block
-bad oilchanges/oil quality
-car was running with ignition problems/fueling problems
OR
Bad coolant flow or thermal transfer problems at tdc between block and coolant.
Can anyone confirm that adu bores measured at tdc at let's say 200+k km has less than 0.1 mm of wear?
