I was researching into oil pressure sensors (for a guage - not a lamp) on the B6 S4 and discovered that the 035 919 561 fitted to the 3B/ABY/ADU is well and truly NLA.
This is the bigger/chunky 2-pin sensor that is wired onto ABY as follows:
'G' - black/white - 0..5 bar based on variable resistance - G10 on schematics
'WK' - blue/black - this is a n/c (normally closed) switch that OPENS with pressure above 0.3bar - F22 on schematics
In conjunction with the hybrid F22/G10 unit, we have 056 919 081 E as a single pin (n/o) switch that CLOSES when oil pressure exceeds 1.8bar - this is 'F1' on the schematics connected to a white/grey wire.
Both devices have an M10x1.0mm threaded fitting on the left side of the block.
The problem we have is that an alternative to the NLA part looks to be 035 919 561 A - this was fitted to many an old Golf and Audi engine (including KW, MB, NG, KV, NM & 7A), BUT it has a different setup on the switch side which prevents 'plug and play' operation.
The switch 'WK' side of the 035 919 561 A part is actually the 1.8bar n/o switch... so on S2/RS2 we will get false oil pressure warnings as the logic is back to front on our autocheck system.
The FIX is to swap the switch wiring around on the ABY and fit an alternative to the 1-pin switch in the F1 position as 028 919 081 D (or H) - these are 0.3bar n/c switches what get wired to the blue/black wire so that Autocheck behaves correctly.
If that isn't clear for anyone, I shall create a lil diagram !
