Some of the work was done a few years back now so some jubilee clips could do with changing but i'm still pretty happy with it. Going back to Mark for a tweak on the map soon too.
I've started putting a few of my more interesting jobs on that page now so please feel free to 'like' it too
I did think about tackling it myself but I'm too busy with other people's cars at work and when I'm not there, have a missus and 2 kids (3 including the dog!) so I never get the time.
Car is running a treat now. Went to Automark on Friday for a remap to suit the RS2 parts I'd bought. We went down the route of doing away with the N75 and going Spring control, I know this is a touchy subject on here but personally I prefer the way my car boosts now, it's a lovely steady control which I never saw with the N75. Brilliant guy is Mark, totally down to earth and wouldn't go anywhere else.
Car goes like a rocket now and I absolutely love it!!!!!
Now Re the de chroming as macspring asked, it looks just perfect to me now BUT it isn't a cheap way of doing it. Removing the gutter rails and replacing with items from a later car is supposed to be a swine of a job so I opted to ask my bodyshop to paint them and the B & C pillars gloss black on the car. Now it may be because the guy I use is a perfectionist but it took him 13 hours all told to prep them enough to get a good key and paint them. Did do the bumper too though!
How do you test a map sensor?
Pressurize it and vag com reading?
That would make sense but unfortunately VAG-com does NOT have measuring block for the G71 MAP sensor for our ancient ECUs, only the F96 Altitude Sensor. The problem is the G71 is multipin and soldered to and integrated with the ECU printed circuit board(s) - no separate output test pin. All you can "hope" for is a fault code.
