How do you test a map sensor?

Pressurize it and vag com reading?

A day checking boost leaks helps no end too.
One of my ECU's always shows 0.1-0.2 higher boost than is actually happening, even with the engine off.

Good to get this update, Hunker's S4 is slow to boost and similar symptoms to yours, the MAP sensor info is interesting..

Cool, thanks for reply / update.

You should be 'lovin it' as an 'RS2'.

Awaiting updates in due course in 2016.

    No no that's fine. Was a mass of little things;

    Boost/vac leaks
Faulty map sensor (more than 1)
    Poor original coils
    Etc etc

I'm probably more picky to it'd running than most owners maybe plus it's an ex demo so had a very very hard life for its early years then just before me it suffered from poor servicing.

Now though it's RS2 set up is on and fitted and waiting for its map. Can't wait!!!!

Thanks for the addition of the car to the UrS6 register on here.

Any updates regarding your car ?

Was there a definitive cure to its travails, or was it just a series of cumulative leaks found and fixed ?

    Just nosey.

No! Love having the car back, and well under way making it RS2 spec now. Just bought the last piece of the puzzle, the injectors, so once i get time to pop it all on it's back for a remap. I think until I get the time to strip it and fit uprated rods etc then that'll do me.

Right, all other **** aside, i now have my car back, a couple more leaks found and an RS2 (wagner) manifold fitted to replace my cracked one and the car DOES feel better. Whether its fixed or the RS2 manifold has improved it over standard i'm not 100% sure!

BUT, while its been away ive been to Nurburg twice in my (now stripped out) E46 M3. RS2 conversion will be coming real soon,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You're telling me re all the other ****. Welcome 'back'.

How could there have been more leaks to be found ?

Twice to the ring in an stripped M3, and RS2 conversion coming. - Great recovery, delighted for you.

    Kind regards.
