Impossible. Lambda control and fuel trims are disabled over ~70 load on this ECU. Your load values are 190. So it's 100% off.

Your problem is nothing to do with electronics, your problem is an intermittent mechanical one.
Maybe digital logging of fuel pressure together with AFR at all times would be helpful.

If your throttle cable was really slack and you're not actually getting to WOT?

The 2.2T ECU does not have fuel trims on WOT. It runs solely off of the MAF sensor.
There is no "resetting" and removing the power from the ECU accomplishes absolutely nothing.

Maybe I should get my name changed to "Mythbusters"?

The mapped ecu is the weirdest. Runs different AFR every time. Ran 13's for a day, then for 4 days switched to 12's and pulled perfectly. Following day dropped to 10's and was gutless. Reset it and the power loss was identical but AFR had reverted back to high 13's!

Ok. I had a golf in t'other day and is the only other car I've looked at load on and that was 191%. Is 120% correct?

Does not make it any more possible.
The ECU can NOT EVER under read. Your tacho is wrong / non-linear.

If it under reads even ONCE your engine will STALL immediately and the ECU will RESET.

Load looks ok - 180-190 for 1.4 bar on AAN.

    At WOT the load readings are as follows at 3600rpm;

Mapped ecu (1.4 bar) group 000 is 184 and group 003 is 124%
Stock ecu group 000 is 151 and 111%

Anyone know if this is correct?

On both ecu the AFR was 13.6-14

Still trying to determine what the load % should be in group 003

On one ecu but not the other? Did the same thing every time I swapped them without fail.

The ECU does not under-read, it is impossible.
It's just your tacho acting up.

Trying to borrow another stock ecu to see how it acts on that.
May be struggling to get the car to the specialist now as I got pulled over at 102mph on Friday and the way my luck is I can see my ban being just at the wrong time!

On the mapped ECU the Rev counter on the dash and the VCDS readout match up pretty well. On the stock ecu it's 150rpm less on VCDS. The idle speed on the stock ecu is higher than the mapped.
