    Manual Boost Controller

Anyone tried one of these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TURBO-MANU...item33590834bd

I bought one just to play with thinking I might try it on my UR which just has a big spring. At the weekend I thought I'd check it with a mightyvac and set it to 1.5 Bar and try it on the coupe. Got it so it was pumping up to 1.5 Bar then it would let go, next time it wouldn't pum up at all, give it a bang on the table and it pumps up againg utter rubbish!

So is there actually one of these kind of things that works or are they all rubbish?

Maybe this would be a little better?

I had one on one of my previous cars and it held 1 bar boost no problem
In saying that though, you could maybe take your one apart and give it a good clean and a lube....you never know!

im no fan of mbc. all I can say is set it and don't mess. personally I wouldn't.

bit of both the lol. as you know I love my boost controllers in comparision with 20 yr old n75 and stock control. I ran mine on stock chip at 1.1bar. fuel afr was good performance much better than stock setup.

give it a go. check afr atm part throttle take it easy to being with is my advice.

dawes or manual makes no odds. dawes is just a check valve.

they are all good value compared with the eboost 2

I bought one of these too and had a similar problem to you, it would stick a little. I stripped mine down and put a bit of grease in it and it works ok now. yet to try it on the car tho, I was using an airline and a pressure gauge to see how repeatable the actuation was.

you get what you pay for.

like I say id avoid. stick with motronic of buy a proper unit for control.

I got lots of hassle for having an ebc. fact is so long as you know the limits and are willing to do without some of the aging safety features you should enjoy the experience

Any links to a "proper unit" ? Just curious.

                          Thanks either way.

Australia's leading turbo performance brand since 1997. Shop wastegates, blow-off valves, boost controllers & fuel pressure regulators. Engineered to win.

Don't buy it from ebay, china fakes(looks 100% the same) don't work as planned.
