I was kind of taken a back by the sheer quantity of them that i forgot to take pictures and can only remember a couple of them, it mentioned something about internal control module memory and trigger faults, i was fully expecting them to come back when i revved the car but they didn't. Very strange indeed.

Andy10v had the same thing with a TS chipset, basically a list of all possible codes.Comment

Incidently, the car doesn't need the DV to run. You could have removed it and blanked the hoses off to see if you now have boost
A bit mean of me when you can't get to the car right now I know

I'll need to have a chat with Andy to see what he says then, the more info on these chipsets the better. Yeh i could have blanked off the DV valve alright but thought i would wait until the new one arrives. Really need to get the car MOT'd, im dodging around with it too much at the moment. Next time at home I'll get it legal on the road.Comment

Evening All,
A wee update on the car. Basically it is all back together now in preparation for it's MOT tomorrow, i don't foresee any issues but you never know!! I have figured out the issue with the TS Tuning chips i was having where the rev counter/ ECU would reset at around 5k along with a very aggressive thud/loss of power.
What i noticed was when the battery was first connected following fitment of the TS chips, on the first run i would always encounter this reset gremlin that has been plaguing me and several others running this chipset. When i would get back to base and attempt to connect VCDS , it would take several attempts to connect and only ever finally connect when the car was switched off. Once codes were scanned there were several pages relating to all sorts of checksum errors etc. When these errors were reset the next spin out in the car would result in zero ECU/rev counter resets with clean hard pulling to the red line. A very happy chappy when i discovered this.
Next time i took the car out after been parked up in the garage for a few weeks, i reconnected the battery, this time before i even started the car i connected VCDS. Again it failed several times trying to connect but when it finally did, i was greeted with the same several pages of checksum errors. These errors i previously thought were due to the ECU/ rev counter thing, however since the car had not even been running yet that blew that idea out of the water. Anyhow, i reset the codes, started the car and went for a spin. Low and behold no ECU / rev counter reset.
I have tried this theory several times now and have had the same repeatability. Once connection is made with VCDS, it connects no problem first time on future attempts, as long as the battery has not been disconnected in the mean time.
This for me has worked a treat, and would urge others with these chipsets to try the same approach. Hopefully you guys will have the same luck.
Now then, i have another issue which is annoying me that i have not figured out yet. Basically with the TS chipsets the car runs spot on, however when i run the V Stream chipsets i get my code illumination light on the dash to indicate that the following code is stored.
00281 Vehicle Speed Sensor
03-00 No Signal
The speedo works, however i have noticed that my trip computer is playing up where it sometimes takes ages to read my average MPG and current MPG.
Now then, when the trip computer finally starts working i reset the code and continued driving, however the fault code is back in no time.
Can anyone point me in the right direction with a fix for this. I've read some people saying it could be a cluster issue?
Also, with the TS chips the car comes to a stable idle when say pulling up to a junction, however with the V stream chips when i pull up to a junction the revs drop right down to about 200rpm before raising back up to 800rpm, it nearly stalls everytime i come to a halt which is most annoying consider the TS don't do this??
Any ideas lads?
As always thanks for your help!!

Of course the solution to the TS chip issue would be for someone to correct the checksum issue. Guess it depends which chip it is in as one is easier than the other. Basically the ecu adds up the contents and compares it with a stored figure as I understand it. So if that figure is not corrected for the changes then it doesn't add up. Probably massively oversimplified it, but in essence thats all it is.
Secondly the speed sensor issue should be able to be viewed in in VCDS in Group 4 field 3. It should show 4KMH even when staionary and obviously change when the vehicle is moving which is a little hazardous if alone. The ecu uses that signal to sense that the vehicle is slowing to a stop for the idle. So it sounds consistant with the symptom and the fault code. There seems to be certain conditions for it to be stored although as you say you would have thought that it would appear on both sets of chips as its a car related issue!Comment

The closed throttle fuel cutoff may be disabled in the TS chipset?Comment

When i first seen this code several weeks back i did at the time connect vcds and monitor the km/h speed value. It was indeed registering 4km/h at standstill and changed as soon as the car was driven forward. I guess i should take the laptop with me and get a friend to observe this value as i drive to see if it stop registering at any point.
Since my speedometer appears to be working would that rule out the sensor? Is there a known failure point when this fault typically occurs? Not finding too much on the forum about it?

Ok guys. I've been out for a wee spin today and it is not registering any speed in VCDS and my trip computer rarely works now. My speedometer is working just fine though. Getting a better feel for the car now, its lost the low end snappiness of the K24 7000 but my my its got some go through the mid range to top end. Still not getting full 1.9 bar boost, i think its around 1.7 bar with the gauge fluttering but certainly goes well. Pleased with it so far!!!Comment

I'd be really interested if you fix this speed trip computer issue. Mine is the same, also with the speedo working perfectly. I haven't tried driving it connected to VCDS though...
Good luck!

I had this problem on my coupe for a while. It was after having the dash out. The speed signal goes to the ABS computer as well so I wondered if the wiring was pinched and shorted under the centre console. I had a fiddle with the wiring looms and it's been ok since.Comment

No boost after engine/turbo upgrade
In fact, I never did this but just thinking.. lock your rear diff, drive the car and check it unlocks and your abs drops back in. Not sure what speed it does this 10 or 15 mph.
If so then the cluster is outputting the speed signal but it's not making it to the motronic ECU. Maybe a pin pushed back in the ECU connectorComment
