    4 port boost solenoid

Who is using a 4 port boost solenoid on their setup?

I am wondering if it is worth the extra expense?

I should say this is aftermarket engine management, not Motronic.
Hoping to achieve the best boost response but not sacrifice stable and wide dynamic range with a 3D TPS/RPM based map with all the boost cut safety features - basically a stiffer WG spring is out the window.

Anyone got any BTDT vs an N75/3 port solenoid?

I have one and never used it as with a 3 way port and connectivity on top and bottom chambers of the wastegate I have always had the requested boost from the ecu.

I'm not concerned about not hitting boost target, more about wasted exhaust energy lost through valve creep
Of course it's easy to just throw in a stiff WG spring but then losing all the benefits of the electronic boost control!

Your aftermarket ecu will be able to control both chambers with a 3 port n75. Just use the directions of fitment of the eboost controller and you will find that you will get good benefits.

          Did you read this thread?

I recall that my eboost ran well pressurising the top chamber and bottom chamber and wenting one port, they call it this tody:
Two port, single solenoid, single turbo connection Method (1)

Australia's leading turbo performance brand since 1997. Shop wastegates, blow-off valves, boost controllers & fuel pressure regulators. Engineered to win.

I had problem if I did not went the top chamber, I got boost spikes at each gear shift.

If you are running the 4-port valve i would look at:
Two port, single 4 port solenoid, single turbo connection Method (3)

Maxxecu works perfect with a 4-port MAC valve. Quite easy to setup also when you get the idea of it. I had WG creep in the top end even that I had a really tight spring, boost dropped quite much to the redline, but with the MAC valve it can easily hold it to the redline.

I assumed you meant a Mac valve. 3 port Mac on mine never had issues. I suspect 4 port wouldn't either

Which valve are you using Thomas?
There seem to be a few different 4 port Mac units available.

I think they are all the same, some just put their own sticker on this MAC valve.

I run a 3 port mac valve connected to top and bottom chambers on the wg.

To stop any creep I applied 100% duty (mac valves are fine with it) at all parts of the map which were below the target boost, so the valve is switched on until slightly below the set boost to avoid any overshooting. I found in the higher gears it was not possible to do it like this because the turbo spools that well that the engine can't consume the air (ie: surge), so the wg needed opening well before max boost just like wg creep to keep out of surge

In the lower gears (1-3) the method works well and noticeably improves the turbo response, especially on a laggy turbo.

One of the greatest benefits with the 4-port is that you are not so depeding on the springpressure.

For example. With my S2 I had a tial 60mm valve with this 4-port. I hade a boost range between 0,5-3,0bar. Awesome for a daily driver with 780hp
As you can have such wide boost range you can adjust power on low gears to get the best traction. If your ecu has this option.
Or boost adjusted based on tps for example.
                              Ofc I use MaxxECU. ;-)

                              Edit: used 0,5bar spring
