  • Fitting ABY Bat box, fuel line ?

I've fitted an ABY battery box under the rear seat, battery installed and working fine, however I have a question regarding the fuel line from the tank to the filter. What have other people done here, made their own, modified what's there or purchased something?

ATM it's plumbed in using the 3B line heated and rerouted, but it's about 2"'s too short to be satisfactory.

I thought it would just be a case of fitting the ABY fuel line but unfortunately I may have got that wrong. I have an ABY line and it's no use as far as I can see unless I turn the filter around and route it around the other side of the box which would mean I'd then have to cut and alter the line from the filter to the front of the car which I really don't want to do. I'm not actually 100% sure TPS have supplied the correct part as I can't see anyway of fitting it tidily and it looks very similar to the 3B one as well as being the same length.

Very tidy, looks like I'm going to have to do the something similar, where did you get the hard black plastic fuel pipe and it's fittings from?

The plastic pin is a DIN standard, can't remember what size i'm afraid. It says on it what spec it is, by chance my GF's bro had some in his workshop so I robbed some.
You need to reuse the fitting at the tank end, its an odd one and not commercially available. The other end I used a banjo with barbed hose tail. You need to heat the plastic hose up to fit the fittings

Nice one, thinking about it I have some old plastic fuel pipes from a Corrado I could cut up, I bet the black one is the right type, I'll take a look.

Just need a cup of hot water from the kettle, heat the plastic line and push the fitting in. I used a lighter the first time and it looked ok but leaked

Sorted this today with the old Corrado fuel line I had knocking about, it has the VW/Audi logo which is nice, slipping it over the fitting's is pretty easy after holding the pipe in boiling water for a few seconds.

                    Cheers fellas.
