On the b4/early b5 system the head unit monitors both high and low pressure switches.
On this 1999 A4/passat system the high and low pressure switch's are in what looks like a combined unit and a single signal is sent to the head unit via terminal C2.
This could be achieved on the s2 with a simple relay, using the 2 pressure switches to emulate the function of the combined pressure switch in the later system.
This was the other obstacle I had to over come that pushed me into getting the H suffix controller, I reckon I have cracked it now thoughsigpic

Cool, thanks for that. If the passat has a combined unit I wonder if that could be used and just screw it into where the sender is in the S2.
Also there is some wiring labeled as cabin temp motor drive....
What does this motor drive look like?

This revelation has implications for the labels I put on that loom. The numbers/letters are all correct A1, C2, D3 etc but if there is any other notes (I can't remember if I made any or not) I would ignore themsigpic

The motor is a tiny little fan that draws air over a temp sensor. As far as I can remember it's not in with that kit and will need sourcing. That labelling is correctsigpic

I've not seen this combine pressure switch but on the S2 the high pressure switch's (there are 2) are at the front of the car on the condenser and the low pressure switch is on the pipe work going to the evaporator. John may be able to advise whether the combined unit can be substituted.sigpic

Yes there were no sensors or motors with this kit and I was of the understanding.
"Everything needed for installing climate"
Meant that I would at least get the sensors required
Anyway I have ordered the sunlight sensor and 2 x cabin temp sensors I have to now sort this sensor motor

8D0 820 547 is the hose to join the fan to the temp sensor

I am sure I will manage to get my head round it once the dash is out and I can bare my wiring loom with everything and the diagrams in front of me.

This combined pressure switch may be a red herring, just checked up to model year 2001 and the parts diagram shows separate pressure switch's. It may have been combined on the wiring diagram purely for claritysigpic
