  • Injector seats - where to buy?

Not sure what they're called but I need the plastic bits that screw in to the IM, as mine have gone brittle. Where's best to get them? Audi? Or are they standard fare that can be picked up somewhere else for less ££?

These were 3,75€ each from the man in Germany I buy OEM Audi parts off. Were a pain in the *** getting the old ones out though.

There must be a big hex "key" to take those out, right?

Allways remove the inlet manifold before attempting to replace these, bit of broken plastic going through your engine will do bad things to it

Luckily all but 1 are fine and were cleaned and lightly tightened in, so I should be ok...

Yes, a 10mm hex but these thing were atleast for me 4 out of 5 siezed. Had to cut them and hack them out carefully so I wouldn't damage the aluminium threads.

Apparently you need a smear of RTV on these when you put in the new ones as they leak boost. I did Lou's a short while back but they needed removing and sealing when the car was mapped on wednesday

I can believe that. I have dirty residue around mine which I take to mean that under boost, there is leakage of air and fuel and dust/dirt is sticking to the fuel and making a mess. The mess isn't as bad as the fact that there is a boost leak.

Andy, if you order some can you get me a set too and I'll bring the cash round. Be a good job to do whilst the engine's out.

I replaced all five before mapping the car last week. Three out of the five seats were leaking boost pressure. They fell to bits when we tried to remove them and ended up chiseling them out. A smear of RTV was used to seal them and they're now leak free. I doubt they will be too expensive from the stealers.
