My cup kit is fitted now. It didn't really go like in the movies

First of all bilsteins are thinner than the struts. I didn't know this. Had to think a while and call few friends about that. Completely normal I heard. Secondly my LH strut top thread was quite rusty so a bit of a hassle with that so that bilstein cap could be tightened enough.

Thirdly I have severe rubbing problem now. I have 8x17 OZ wheels with ET figure of 35 and 225/45 conti sc2.

Both my front wheels are a bit back. I mean they're not in the center of the wheel housing when looking the car from side. Ball joints and wishbones seem to be the correct parts. Subframe has been changed as the car has collision history. The chassis should be straight as it was in a chassis robot and they told me it's in factory specs.

Could my both wishbones be a bit bent?

Are the wishbones on the correct sides of the car?

Wishbones are right way around, so are ball joints. Everything is right

Bilsteins have internal bump stops. Today I unbolted the strut top and put washers between the shock and upper spring disc. This way the bump stops are now 5mm closer. It didn't remove the problem, but seems to help a bit.

Wheel alignment on monday will show more. It might help a bit or then not. Just because now the cambers are of course pretty much on the negative side and when the ball joints are ajusted in, also the wheel will move a bit in.

This issue has to be fixed somehow so that the tyres will never meet the arch. Somehow. Perhaps 215/45-17?

I might be able to get the car on a chassis bench some time soon.

Wheel alignment done. Values were quite close on the start so no joy from that

Doh. I guess I have to get a bit smaller diameter tyres then..
