The springs on the pictures are for an S2 Avant, as you can see on the German TÜV report:

    partnumbers and color match!
I can only aggree that the catalogues of H&R are misleading as it concerns to choose the right items for an S2 Coupé

When i was talking to AMD they were saying 29939 is listed as a whole suspension kit. not springs on its own.

I will try translate the PDF to readable english since im not talented like some of the guys on here.

      Cheers

        Ah, nope...

Here in the U.S. I got the four of the exact same springs fo rmy Coupe. I was reluctant but they work great!

        Oh yeah, they are red.

Who's your source for springs in the states? Can you give me a web address?

I get them from a friend that has a local foreign car shop. I can price them there for you or www.tirerack.com has them I believe.

I checked Tirerack. They have both Eibach and H&R. The prices are good but they don't have the S2's. (You know this better than most since you're building one.) Did you order the kit for the 80 quattro?

My local guy ordered the kit for the Coupe. I could get the part number and that could be relayed to the tire rack. Instead of giving them the car, just give them the p/n.
                I'll dig it up...

                    H&R Kit number is 50311
Again, all four springs are the same. I was skeptical but they work great.

Again, all four springs are the same. Listed for 1989-1991 Coupe.
I think it just lists to 1991 because it was labeled for US use. The last year for the Coupe in the US was 1991.

Thanks to Doug and Dave for the specific PN's. I will see where I can get the best prices - shipping included.

One final question to all of you. How do you like the ride quality of these springs? Any hard numbers on the spring rates of these?

I have these H&Rs also, but mine had different part numbers on the springs themselves.
2 of the springs had a part number with an F on the end (front?)
2 had a part number with an R on the end (rear?)

Yeah, it seems several springs may work, I don't know...

I was very pleased with the ride and handling. Excellent balance between the two I thinks!

I find my H&R springs and adjustable konis pretty comfortable - ok it's not standard springs comfortable but it's not bone jarring like most of the golfs I've been in.

Mihnea, Greg and Ant have been in my car - maybe they would have a better comparison of what they are used to and compare it to mine?

Sounds good. Of course, you're driving around on 19's or is it 20's now? My suspicion is that your butt dyno was shaken to pieces miles ago
