19s, and yes that makes a differnece as well - best to ask the other guys what they thought of it.

I don't think my car is a harsh ride considering the suspension/poly bushes/low profile tyres.

The 20s was a photoshopped pic - not going any bigger than 19s - can't afford any more mods

Greg, I'd say looking at the rear ones, that is a 2 WD kit maybe?

I think the ride felt perfectly fine..... mine feels like a boat.... too much movement in the suspension.... My previous car was like a go-cart, which was fun, but not all that comfortable.

Considering you've lowered it etc.... i would be more than happy with the ride it gives. plenty comfortable enough in my opinion

Cheers Ant. Sounds like I would like this mod. I want something I can also do some long distance travelling in w/o falling apart.

Now if only QST would get their act together and answer my mail....

Again, all four springs are the same. I was skeptical but they work great.
Are these what you have fitted to your car now? What is the ride like? How do they differ to the other suspension set that H&R quote?

Ride is great in my book. Not too harsh. Of course that has a lot to do with the struts too, I am running Boge turbo gas.
I feel this is the perfect combo as my car is a daily driver. I like the car to handle well but I don't like to feel every expansion seam in the highway.
I was given a choice when I ordered my set so I do not know how they compare...

well the thing is i bought a set from AMD in the UK and told them it was a coupe but got avant springs and they want an extra £100 + vat for the correct ones as listed earlier in the thread.

So what im trying to asertain is the difference between them all.

                  can anyone help?

Yeah, Martyn, I'd say you're right. Either for a Coupe 2WD rear, Avant quattro. The only way I reckon those rears will fit a Coupe quattro would be if the car had custom coilovers.

                      Definitive answer??

I have been digging around and found a 2 Swedish site that specifically list the kit for the S2 Coupe.

The kit number for the S2 Coupe is:29939-11. This agrees very well with the numbers Doug gives.

The kit 29658-2 that someone mentioned is listed for the 90 Quattro and not the S2 Coupe. It is somewhat lower in price.

After the hassle ive had the last few weeks i feel compelled to write about the poor service that i have received from Auto-AMD.

I called them up to order a set of H&R springs for my S2, which is a coupe and they were told that more than a dozen times over the phone. And also suggested a part no which others have fitted to be told that it was a full suspension kit and wasnt the right no.

They found the 'right' no then i had to pay the £30+ postage to have it delivered. On arrival it was plainly obvious they werent for my S2. So i called them up and initially it looked like a simple swap.

Anyway a call back and was told that it would we an extra 145+vat on top of what i had already paid to supply the ones to suit. Not happy with the price i decided i would return them to them.

Having given them a call to arrange for their courier to collect there wrongly sent part i was told it was up to me to send it back to them at my expense and i would be charged a 10% surcharge because I had given them the part no. for the springs which i had NOT!

So in the last three weeks ive had to spend alot of my time dealing with the hassle of a cocked up order from AMD. they eventually realised that they had made the error but still refused to pay for the collection of the parcel so ive taken a 100mile round trip to take them back because im sick of the hassle it has caused me and finally got my money back. And for the priveledge of trying to buy from what i thought was a reputable company im now out of pocket by about £25 in what it has cost me to take them back, and it would have been even more if i had to post them!

Needless to say i wont be buying anything from AMD in the future.

                        Greg

BUT. If you have an S2 avant and want some lowering springs at a good price id give them a call because they dont think they will ever sell them now. they did them to me for 145+Vat but im sure if u point out what QST do them for you can prob get a little cheaper.

                        note.

The comments I have put on the board are from my personal experience with them and it is the first time i have bought anything from them. It is not ment as a sweeping statement to say that all of the customers get this quality of serivce but it is what i received. I did try to resolve the issue with them and to start with I did receive a good service but it was when i came to return the goods which they had wrongly supplied i started to have problems.

                            Greg,

They stuck it to you AGAIN!!

VA stands for "Vorder Axel" = Front axel. They sent you 4 fronts!!!

                            You should have 2 x 29939 VA and 2 x 29939 HA.

HA stands for "Hinter Axel" = Rear axel.

Who are these people you are dealing with

Apparently not, been in touch with H&R and they now sell them like this for the coupe.

reason being it gives better handling that the old combination they had, so looks like i got the right one this time round, thank god. Will probably fit them next wend along with a few other bits i want to do 'while its off'

@Martyn expect a call very soon.

Do powerflex make uprated bumpstops to fit the S2?
