I am looking for the round rubber/plastic dust washer from under the front top mount dust cover on my s2 . Are they dealer only or are they available

Okay, you mean the "strut stop" part number 811 412 319.
I think these went NLA a long time back. I don't see them on Tradition or eBay.
I think your best bet would be to post a wanted ad on here.

I have half a dozen of those if you mean the black plastic ring that goes on the outside of the upper sturt plate, which is what it looks like you're after.1989 B3 2.0 3A 80 quattro... Budget 1.8T Project.

I am sorry for any confusion over both the part and the diagram . My s2 is at a garage having the strut mounts replaced as I am unable to work on the car myself any longer . I am going to the garage personally to try and find out exactly what they need .

The plastic ring aren't available as a separate part it's bonded to the strut stop, they all split over time. You don't really need them.
You can use a rubber washer that sits below the strut stop as an alternative to the ring.
You can also use the strut stop from a TT or Mk IV Golf i think it is, these have a rubber bonded ring and the "hat" of the stop is a bit taller that the original item but it works. I'll post the part number for these once I find it.
