Wait, so is the shock piston shorter on 1BE suspension compared to standard suspension on UrS4?

The gas in the shock basically assists the spring and also stops the oil from foaming.Comment

Thanks,
Sachs is cheaper but not bad. All new shocks are better than my 20 years old.

Standard suspension and sport 1BE suspension dampers are the same height i.e. have the same piston travel the only difference is the sport is Gas pressurised which is firmer which gives a more precise controlled ride. As you have 1BE sports springs you will have the gas shock form audi. So if your keeping the 1BE sports suspension for now you will need Bilstine B6 gas shocks.Only if your lowering more than some do will you need Bilstine B8 gas shocks which are the same gas pressurised rate as the B6 only they have a shorter piston travel to match lowering springs.
