Cheers fella. You will know better than most how much work & expense this kind of stuff can take
I am talking to Polybush and Powerflex about some ideas for a specific B3/B4 product at the moment so will see how the testing goes first and report back

Solid mounts - too harsh with no tangible reward
I'll have to chime in here, I've had the Compbrake solid mounts on my S2 avant with Bilstein HDs the last 2 years (daily driver) and I have to say if I didn't install them myself I would swear they are OEM. Absolutely no increase in harshness (none at all) and ride is nice and smooth over some of the worst Toronto roads.

Hope this helps in some way shape of form.

Yes, I went round in circles too and ended up spending a small fortune developing some mounts, which I'm very happy with. Careful not to develop them too publicly or you'll be left out of pocket for all your hard work.

Have you spoken to kev about his poly units? Might be a good place to start as he has the bearing holder designed, so you could source a softer outer?

There must be some demand for them as they are shared with early polos too. That's said they didn't eat them on q weekly basis. I exchanged a number of emails with Kev bambridge about his design but it went cold. Tbh I don't mind paying hansomly for some as long as they are pretty much fit and forget. As its been said before it's a real weak point of these cars. Oh and Alex I'd like to congratulate you on the Star Wars reference. Very good.

You could have part 5 the rattle strikes back. And part 6 return of the jelly (steering that is).

                        Very interesting Alex!

Can you please give me a guide here....

Is this mod applicable on my RS2 and 1997 Cabriolet ?
Both have original factory suspensions layout nothing custom.
All i have to do it's trim the rubber to fit on the recess?

                        Thanks a lot in advance!

I'm pretty sure this will only work on coilovers

                            Hi Stefano

Unfortunately this will not work with standard B3/B4 suspension, because the upper spring perch is a different design.

I am working on a new top mount design at the moment which will hopefully bridge the gap between weak OEM pattern top mounts and harsh solid alloy items so be perfect for a road car.
