Ah! ACOQ not there in my copy
I wonder why?
Thanks chaps, the stick has same number but with a D suffix on the 5 speed. Looks the same but we know we can't rely on the pics in there.. Also the 6 speeder has the gate thing for the reverse lockout mechanism which I hadn't thought of.Last edited by newsh; 8 January 2006, 21:54.Comment

do you have a 6speed front sub frame? or a spacer?
do you have the a shortened prop?
dont forget the aby has a spacer for the dual mass clutch which you are not using so an aby prop will be the wrong length,

Even if you use a single mass flywheel without the ABY spacer, you can still use an ABY prop, providing the transmission sits where it should and the engine is moved back instead.
I'm just completeing an ABY conversion with CGR 6 speed in a 1990 Coupe quattro, everything works fine, just waiting for the rear box to arrive.Never show a fool a half built house.

Best way really, moving the engine rearwards won't hurt handling either.Never show a fool a half built house.

Yes, the ABY prop is shorter than the 3B, thats why I'm using it.
Dont have a spacer, yet, could you tell me the dimensions , please
Also don't have the bolts to hold the linkage on, look like big allen bolts maybe?Comment

no guys you got the wrong end of the stick, im talking subframes here. I used an rs2 sub frame which the gearbox mounting pad are level (IIRC) and the 5speed has one side higher than the other, so you would need a spacer making to bring it up to the correct level.
not talking about the bell housing spacer - which you are correct in saying you only need if you are running a dual mass clutch

I have an RS2 subframe to suit the gearbox. You're right, this is required or a spacer will need to be made for the S2 gearbox mount.
