  • 1990 Urquattro Panther Black

    Hello,

Have just acquired my dream car and have signed up for help, tips and tricks to ownership. No doubt will have many questions over the years. I’m ok on the tools so look forward to being hands on with the car. Im far from a pro mechanic so always happy to take on advice etc.

The mileage is just under 190k so has had good use in its life. Overall in great condition for the age so very happy with it.

    Cheers,

Heres a few more photos. I have a bunch of parts with the car which I'm trying to work out what they are and their pros/cons. The previous owner is on here and was a wonderful custodian of the car.

            Cheers,

                  Thanks all.

Going to get a wheel alignment done but I think new tyres are on the cards. The last 16 years it’s done 5000kms so guessing the vibrations I’m feeling are from hard tyres.

Then I want to pull the front bumper off and align it correctly. Any tips?

Please don´t fit the AAN intake, the tuning exhaust manifold or the other "tuning parts" to this beauty!!!
                    Very nice rare car

                      Hey mate,

At this point it’s plenty quick for me.

                      It currently has

                      RS2 injectors and MAF
Larger Intercooler, radiator and Oil cooler.
                      Milltek exhaust
                      Bilstein and H&R kit.
                      MRC chip.

The above is plenty at the moment and to be honest more than enough for me.

I would like to get an idea of the parts pros/cons tho. It would be good to know and understand so when I do choose to sell them I understand what I have. Haha

                          Nice car
You will have to remove the centre section first, there are 2 bolts inside the engine bay on the chassis legs. Once this is removed you'll see the numerous screws holding the apron on, some are underneath and inside the arches.
Was this originally from the uk?

There’s 3 screws behind the grill which hold the top lip of the apron to the crossmember.
There’s a steel reinforcement bonded to the apron which is usually rusted.
I’ve got this drawn in CAD and can get them lasered in stainless if you need one

Hello, thanks so much. Yes this is an ex UK car. It arrived in NZ in 1995 with the UK owner. I’m the 3rd owner of the car accordingly. The prior owner of the car bought it in 2000 I Think.

Thanks for stainless offer. As I’m based in NZ I wouldn’t ship that but as a mechanical engineer I have the contacts to get it cut here. If it’s rusty I’d be keen to talk about that cad file if that’s a option.

Thanks very much for the help.
