Had my ur since about 86, remember seeing the S2 when it came out at the dealers and thinking the frameless doors were really cool, everyone said the 20v didn't really have the character of the 10 and the looks were a bit girly.. so never really fancied one, then a mate said one was going cheap, that the bloke needed the money really badly and would sell it down the pub that night no matter what so I bought it, drove it and fell in love. I still think it was best when it was on the K24 with a Mihnea map but hey I just keep on doing things to it, gotta have more power even if I don't need it

I'm showing my age a bit here, but I remember when they came out! I've been an Audi nut since the 80's, so you're going to notice when one of the fastest estate cars in the world (if not THE fastest) comes out back in 1992.(check the Billboard Poster statement in my signature - which I actually saw back then) you're going to want one aren't you?

So with a very young family and being an Audi nut, the S2 Avant was the dream car for me! Took me until 2000 to be able to afford one, but got a peach 1995 with only
58k on it and it cost me nearly £10k at the time.

Loved it so much, I kept it for 7 years and thanks to this forum, saved thousands from the info on here and enjoyed getting it Homefried + a Miltek. Almost totally reliable, a joy to drive and very fast.

High point? watching (on 2 different occastions & 2 different cars) 2 E46 M3's trying to escape from it 50-130 on an "A" road, with the S2 glued totally to their rear bumper (almost got past one - and it wasn't down to driver skill) whilst in their then £50k (ultimate driving machine). Whilst down by almost 60 bhp - that still shocks me to this day!! OK wasted them on Torque - but still!

Still really miss it and would have kept it if I didn't need the cash for the RS4! (S2 has a better gearchange than the RS4 (IMHO). Love the RS4 too though!

I so remember that billboard add it was an avant with the 3b wheels on it and i have searched for a copy of the add, Anyone else seen a copy of it..
