Has Hamish done away with the oil cap on this 7A cam cover?

Where / how does he get the oil in?

probably drysump with a separate oil reservoir

28mm springs to mind, and he machined down the rings to flat on one side so the coils could go all the way down and click into place, it's all detailed in Hamish's thread.

With the 7A cam cover does the coils HAVE to sit at a 45 degree angle due to the oil cap?



Hamish's coils sit across the cam cover but obviously the oil caps not in the way

Hi gents, Is need to redrill the whole hole for coils inside 7A cam cover?Or just a few centimetres? I want to contact Hamish on Classic Audi, but i cant due to a new member So any PM or reply in his topic..

Yes the plug hole needs to be machined - I have just done these mods on a couple of 7A cam covers. I can't remember the sizes off the top of my head, but I can check my CNC program tomorrow.
