Rich, I could tell it wasnt a dig and like you I hate the threads that dont tell us what resolved the issue lol. Defo agree with you though... S2 forum the whole way... even if its non S2 related as everyone on here seem to be so helpful.

I tend not to post much at all these days,

Most of my work has been on customers cars so I let them update their threads unless they ask me to update one.

So it's rare I get to do anything on my S2.

Most problems I have encounter with the S2 can be sorted via reading old posts.

Sometimes new members ask new questions but someone will have given the answer before I get to log on.

To be fair the forum is still getting ~25k unique people visiting it each month, with a session duration of over 9 minutes per a visit, which is exceptionally high... i.e once people come to the site they stick around for a bit.

I'm no great poster, but I've been here a few years now and still pop on here almost everyday. And that's despite selling my S2 a couple of years ago. But the S2/RS2 is still my second favourite Audi ever made, and this is one of the best forums out there I feel (love hearing about folks projects, fixes and 'encounters'!)

I do keep getting very, very tempted each time a decent car comes up for sale too!

I think some forums are mainly populated with people that only post when the need help with a problem and then don't follow it up with a conclusion, a pet hate of mine

Note to myself; from now on, must follow up my threads/requests for help etc with a conclusion

Some must also think that if people get up with a vibe that gets created by a minority and decide to spend less time on the forum, that's not necessarily unacceptable. So if some issues get solved outside the forum even if there was an initial question on here, there may be reasons for that.
