Funnily enough when I started the calls to them to let them know what happened they were keen enough for me to fix her up, clean her and get her checked out before driving her but not putting a CAT on her, would have been cash in lieu and I would have had enough to help out what I've forked out seeing as they said we could go this route...furious I was, but then again as I said earlier they are just a voice on the phone, not feelings and not really any sign of respect for classic cars or owners!!This is what I would do, it's criminal what they want to do, they are putting you in an impossible situation and obviously have no respect for classic cars or their owners. There have been too many cars lost already due to crap policies like this, I could go on but if it was mine I would be calling the shots, my car I decide
Sorry for your grief, hope you get something that suits you better sorted.1998 A6 Q (Suzie)

This.Hi mike why don't you just forget about the insurance keep the car when you gather up the funds ( a couple of grand at most ) do it in your own time there will be no cat against the car and it won't be crushed which would be a sin. It won't cost anything to sit on it for a while
The car is going to be worth twice the amount you're being offered in a few years, you'll be better off all round not bothering with insurance and not have to see 20 grands worth of serious car get cubed!Comment

Yes we all know that these are increasing in value, but in honesty mostly everyone knows on here that she'd been flooded and no matter if she were gleaming again I really don't presume that anyone would pay much more than £22000 for her knowing the history now, so I appreciate the sentiments but I really think best to lay her to rest now and start over again with same.

That's a high case scenario... And that would be even sadder after all the effort you would have put to rescue her... It's really a shame..Yes we all know that these are increasing in value, but in honesty mostly everyone knows on here that she'd been flooded and no matter if she were gleaming again I really don't presume that anyone would pay much more than £22000 for her knowing the history now, so I appreciate the sentiments but I really think best to lay her to rest now and start over again with same.
😳
I have no doubt though, that they will take many parts off her, not to say everything.
Keep up mate and you will find your love once again! [emoji6]Comment

I disagree, as long as it's been sorted out properly then I can't see a real issue, and even if that were the case you'd still be £1000s better off!Yes we all know that these are increasing in value, but in honesty mostly everyone knows on here that she'd been flooded and no matter if she were gleaming again I really don't presume that anyone would pay much more than £22000 for her knowing the history now, so I appreciate the sentiments but I really think best to lay her to rest now and start over again with same.

Exactly
Exactly what the guy above said.
Ask yourself this question, what would a previously flooded but immaculate Sport Quattro go for these days? £150k, £200k
If you let it get scrapped you will regret it eventually. Personally I would **** the insurance off, dry it out, and slowly fix the problems.Comment
