      So, so sad
Ok if you have all these laying around and these would have been on by now if I had them...

Sorry for your grief, hope you get something that suits you better sorted.
Funnily enough when I started the calls to them to let them know what happened they were keen enough for me to fix her up, clean her and get her checked out before driving her but not putting a CAT on her, would have been cash in lieu and I would have had enough to help out what I've forked out seeing as they said we could go this route...furious I was, but then again as I said earlier they are just a voice on the phone, not feelings and not really any sign of respect for classic cars or owners!!

          This.

The car is going to be worth twice the amount you're being offered in a few years, you'll be better off all round not bothering with insurance and not have to see 20 grands worth of serious car get cubed!

Yes we all know that these are increasing in value, but in honesty mostly everyone knows on here that she'd been flooded and no matter if she were gleaming again I really don't presume that anyone would pay much more than £22000 for her knowing the history now, so I appreciate the sentiments but I really think best to lay her to rest now and start over again with same.

just remember to let the forum know your address and the date they come to collect. About 200 people will be following them to the breakers yard

That's a high case scenario... And that would be even sadder after all the effort you would have put to rescue her... It's really a shame..
I have no doubt though, that they will take many parts off her, not to say everything.
Keep up mate and you will find your love once again! [emoji6]

If it goes as Cat A - the insurance wont take a thing.

Some lucky breaker will benefit by stripping before it hits the crusher and will make 10K or so.....

Bloody stupid system!! And a waste of a good car

I disagree, as long as it's been sorted out properly then I can't see a real issue, and even if that were the case you'd still be £1000s better off!

                              Exactly

Exactly what the guy above said.

Ask yourself this question, what would a previously flooded but immaculate Sport Quattro go for these days? £150k, £200k

If you let it get scrapped you will regret it eventually. Personally I would **** the insurance off, dry it out, and slowly fix the problems.

It's in the insurer's hands now, there's no turning back.
