You should be able to get them from most Audi Coupe,80,100,200 with a 60mm fuel pump.

ACE, 6A and NG engines use it as standard and most other cars had to convert to a 60mm pump if they needed a replacement.

Well I've spent an hour this afternoon dismantling the car to change the fuel pump. Very easy to get everything apart and get into the tank.

Then I hit a bit of a problem.

Inside the tank is a plastic basket fixed to the bottom of the tank. The fuel pump retainer fits in this to hold it in place. All you have to do is use the special tool to release the pump retainer from it's basket and lift it out.

On my Avant the basket isn't attached to the tank anymore This makes it impossible to turn the fuel pump retainer as the whole basket moves. It also explains my random fuel gauge readings and occasional fuel starvation as it is literally floating in the tank.

So at present I can't do a lovely how to on changing the fuel pump.

Fear not though as I will be accidentally ordering a brand new fuel tank and all associated parts on Monday (yes boss I need a new fuel tank as my car won't run without it, honest and I won't be able to come to work and make you lots of money )

I will be able to take plenty of pictures of how to do it with the tank out of the car. Just got to persuade my mechanic to fit the new tank.

This is different to the ur pump, this one is immersed in the fuel tank. Besides the ur fuel pump is completely adequate, if in good condition, the wiring to it is not though so well worth doing the relay mod, check the other forum.

                            Greg,

Will this kit fit a U.S. 1990 Coupe? If so and you can ship to the US, I'd like to get a whole kit.

                              Chris,

Not sure about the 1990 coupe, assuming it uses the same fuel tank it will fit. I am only arranging the purchase of the pumps this time since I am very busy but the part list is in the thread. If you can confirm the setup is the same, which i guess it probably will be. I can get one ordered for you too.

I have pricing on the pumps now, they will be priced at £145 inc VAT + P&P.

I will start up a fresh thread with the names I have already.
