    Well done Graham

This is one of those definitive write-ups that people will come back to as the source for working on this part. Nice work.

Cheers, its an old post now, but i love playing with hydraulics and thought it would be a good idea to do a how too on this clever little twin pump.

Very good write-up Graham. Did my pump and it works perfect, costed me 22 euro.
        Thanks a lot!!

          Hi everyone.

I digged out this old and cery well written post from Graham

My Cabriolet PAS pump it's leaking between the junction of the two cases as per picture on the post above from Graham.
Pump it's pretty the same as the S2/RS2 ones part # 8G0145165X
          My question it's:

There's a seal between the two halves and if yes where can I get it?
Secondly the Orings are common rubber/gum or are them oil resistant ones and any clue where I can get them?

          Thanks in advance.

There is a seal kit what you can buy for very cheap-- 035 198 049 A for the aby/3b pump or there is 026 198 049 A for the KV/NG.

              Thanks Graham!

It's this kit including the big oring and the seal for the two halves of the pump then?

              Again thanks for your time!

I believe the kit has every seal included.

                  Thanks.

I was wandering because mine it's leaking between those two pieces.

I guess then there's one of the "big" Oring between them ?

Becasue I can't properly see if there's one in between....

I'm also right assuming that (if there's one) to change it I don't need to take the pulley out and avoid the procedure of press and heating?

Sorry if I bother you with this questions mate.....

                  Grazie mille again.

Thanks for the great write up
However I still have a problem. After rebuilding my pump using all the information from many sites I have still ended up with a leaking top xplug AAAAARRRG
Correct seal fitted from Audi but blew after 5 miles.
Someone mentioned a pressure relief valve on the high pressure side ?(any info on this would be handy as it seems a likely cause)
Or have I got a distorted x plug? (not seating)
I will buy a replacement 026145541 plug and seal to see if it works first before I contaminate the rest of the planet with Pentazine
I can see that this is a problem for many Audi owners and would like to find a solution to this irritating problem so that we can all save on G00200

                    Thanks in anticipation

its likely the X-plug is just not tight enough, use a cold chisel to tap it tight with a hammer

The high pressure relief valve is in the flow control valve piston, which you can see in the picture attached to this post

But i doubt that is the problem - try the above

Ok so this is how I stopped the flow of earth destroying Pentazine from bubbling out of my x plug
                          1) New plug and seal
                          2) soak seal in Pentazine
                          3) grease seal to stop it snagging when tightened
                          4) PTFE tape the thread on the plug
                          5) Make a tool out of a 1/2 inch drive extention for tightening
                          6) tighten until the car starts turning or you eyes pop out

Job done....Just a thought though......how come the bottom xplug never leaks? no grease, no PTFE not very tight ......Strange
