This will separate the high pressure pump away from the low pressure pump, the galleries in the low pressure side on the left line up with the little hole which feeds the high pressure pump on the right. The galleries feed both high and low pressure parts to the unit.
Hi everyone.
I digged out this old and cery well written post from Graham
My Cabriolet PAS pump it's leaking between the junction of the two cases as per picture on the post above from Graham.
Pump it's pretty the same as the S2/RS2 ones part # 8G0145165X
My question it's:
There's a seal between the two halves and if yes where can I get it?
Secondly the Orings are common rubber/gum or are them oil resistant ones and any clue where I can get them?
Thanks for the great write up
However I still have a problem. After rebuilding my pump using all the information from many sites I have still ended up with a leaking top xplug AAAAARRRG
Correct seal fitted from Audi but blew after 5 miles.
Someone mentioned a pressure relief valve on the high pressure side ?(any info on this would be handy as it seems a likely cause)
Or have I got a distorted x plug? (not seating)
I will buy a replacement 026145541 plug and seal to see if it works first before I contaminate the rest of the planet with Pentazine
I can see that this is a problem for many Audi owners and would like to find a solution to this irritating problem so that we can all save on G00200
Ok so this is how I stopped the flow of earth destroying Pentazine from bubbling out of my x plug
1) New plug and seal
2) soak seal in Pentazine
3) grease seal to stop it snagging when tightened
4) PTFE tape the thread on the plug
5) Make a tool out of a 1/2 inch drive extention for tightening
6) tighten until the car starts turning or you eyes pop out
Job done....Just a thought though......how come the bottom xplug never leaks? no grease, no PTFE not very tight ......Strange
Graham: Hope you don't mind but I converted the key parts of your posts above to a single pdf document, suitable for printing off and taking out the garage (for old-schoolers who don't have an iPad for the garage):
