The knowledge comes from your VEMS supplier.

Half of us on the forum have bought from the US or Hungary and that's where the support comes from.

I know what your saying as only GazzaG60 and S2martyn are people I know who use vems in the U.K that I would say are contactable but there's a lot of other forum members who can help based outside my country.

its now 99% certain it'll be autronic due to the heavy locl knowledge on the system.
If VEMS did have that support/knowledge here locally, then there would'nt be any discussion at all, as it is cheaper and all the forum knowledge around it.

Finally got the b7 rs4 disc's with bells the other day after buying them in mid-october, seller trying to rip me off by not sening them. All of a sudden they were here. Wonder what made he change his mind :mischeif:

What is a project thread without some pictures, ey?

A little let down as the deal was to recive my longblock fully timed and all, so I could do all the rest work. Internal troubles in this firm also(!) did affect my engine, resulting in an all time new record breaking hold of almost a couple of years of detainee, total.
          Anyone longer than that?

Anyways, bad things aside, all bits are done and now in my hands, just timing, some small detailing, welding, and we're there; making donuts on all fours!

Here's the block as i recived it on my birthday: (what an great gift )

Im celebrating it all with a weeks time of skiing in Tignes, France. Should be great.

It's gonna be a beast. Looks great. How much power are you expecting? Is it a daily driver?

I dont know if it'll be a beast, as there as a lot more powerfull cars than mine on the roads here in Norway. As in numbers I dont know what to expect anymore, done a few changes in my setup from my original plan, so should I hit 450hp @ hubs Id be happily ever after. If not, I'll dump the whole car in the local river
Joking aside, as long as it produce some power, the drivability is good and the lifetime of the engine exceeds one summer of my right foot, I've reachd my goal.
Its a daily driver in the summer only Im afraid.

                      cheers,

Darn, I'll be there from the 10th to the 17th April. I love the cold but my better half hates it as she's quite thin so we always go very late in the season. Maybe next year !

Well, the weather and snow conditions were great there (40-60cm powder), and also I do hear tales that it was snowing even more after our departure from the area. So if you like powder, you're in heaven
I wish you a good trip with the misses David!

Here's a pic viewed from "mickeys ears" -a classic hike'n'skii route. Val'd'Isere seen far down in the valley:

Also I got a few hours on the engine. Its a mess trying to get all the right bolts to the right places when they all is in a pile in a big box, and then after sorting them to the their designated place/function, I go order them new from the dealer. Very time consuming, but great if you like to fiddle around with small details.
I managed to time the head, put togheter the bottoms end, and lower the head onto the arp bolts, paint some bits and ready some others. Atleast now its starting to look like something a engine should look like. Thanks to Breitling for the 24h support by phone.

Head beeing timed pluss all bits and bobs mounted:

The Dahlbäck cam wheel got an new OEM woodruff key:

                          Starting to come together:

                          Sideview:

These badguys only need the brackets which the customs are so helpful to hold on too:

Also a black Tial DV to match the rest of the blackness:

And finally I need an block-oilbreather-adapter since mine has choose to go jihad on me:

oh, and the GT3076R is up for grabs, 950$:
