"This results in increased throttle response, quicker turbo spool-up, and higher top end power capabilities."

And I presume the EGT's also stay a bit lower with it... or so I hope.

agree on the EGTs, disagree on the faster spool up and throttle responce.

the wider the runners, the more lag you will get, as the velocity of gasses going through the turbo is smaller.

off boost, i dont know, but in regards to spool and lag, everything else being equal, the wider runners will create a bit more lag.

Whether that is noticable, i dont know. i havent done any test on that.

Indeed. Velocity and flow are always a tradeoff.

equal dimensions and length of the runners is what you want.

Just realized that FATS was probably downhill
Most of the mapping was done on non level terrain, so FATS varies from 4.3 to 3.3.

just post a log through with time vs rpm so we can plug it in the virtual dyno! Best i have measured after tweaks was 2.8 and most play around 3secs but im not sure i can get a proper FATS measure from vems logs.

good numbers, but why do you always have 3 people in the car? Who is the 3d guy all the time? Same thing with Ross! Are you worried that the car will fly??? Dont ! its just a K27/26! not a jet engine! haha

The key is oem narrows below optimum flow point which becomes a bottleneck causing a loss in flow bit like a kink in a hose pipe

Great stuff though, there are at least 3 RS2 now with pretty much similar if not identical maps and setups!

Well this is slower than Ross' setup. Has about 1.8 bar peak boost, otherwise IAT's climb.
And the log times are useless as are FATS times because we did downhill and uphill pulls.
So you will have hp variations of 100 hp just from that...

                          ah i see.

why is there such a difference? is that the head porting on Ross car that is making the difference?

or maybe because Ross car has H-Rods and Avantus stock like mine people with fear with the torque

that as well. Those KKK turbos are monsters in torque

Avantus has H-rods, but IAT's started climbing and the compression ratio was stock with the head skimmed.
I think the car would not make a lot more power at 1.9 or 2 bar compared to 1.8, because I would have to pull at least 3 deg timing to get there.

Also his WG spring did not really allow more boost. N75 is pretty much maxed as is 75-90% most of the time.

The car feels very nice though, good cold start and warmup, etc...
I am pretty positive it has at least 400hp and Steve seemed happy with it.
