Finally getting new heater matrix fitted this week. Been on the to do list for months.

Heater now works BUT the car is running very rough. Sounds like it's maybe only running on 4 cylinders. I doubt if this is related to the matrix change as the engine isn't touched to change this. Everything else seems to be working.

The red exclamation is flashing on the dash. Will try and get a video uploaded.

I'm away to search the forum for answers. But if anyone has any thoughts please post My initial thoughts are probably a coilpack.

Previoulsly the car was sort of missing when accelerating but not all the time. Maybe this was something on the way out before and now has given up the ghost. I just blamed a boost leak (if in doubt blame it on a boost leak )

Could well be a coil or POS channel. Try and identify the problem cylinder, then you can swap out the spare POS channel and see if that helps.

I left it with the mechanic to have a quick look to see if he could make a diagnosis. Turns out he had unplugged something to get to the matrix pipes in the engine bay. Plugged back in and all is well. Probably where the coilpacks plug into the POS. So it was probbaly only running on 3 cylinders at best!

Thanks anyway Alex for your input as always I might go for one of your looms for running the newer type coils at some point if you are still making them?
