      Cheers

She'll be back, the damage is an inconvenience and bit of extra expense, I was already planning on taking the car off the road when the MOT runs out in November for some alterations and a pretty serious engine upgrade. I've just got a bit more work to do.

After a bit of refection there's some positives.

The front bumper was already pretty knackered as was one fog light.

The ellipsoids are recoverable, nearside survived and I have a repairable pod from charlies car I can use to rebuild the offside one.

I was planning on up-rating the suspension anyway, Andy P is already helping with parts for this.

Both my front wishbones had seen better day's, I don't think either were perfectly straight from the day I had the car.

The main shell is still basically straight, both doors still operate as they did before the accident and the shut lines to the rear quarters are the same. There's some rear end damage and rot I want to deal with properly...now I've got the chance.

It's had a smash in the past and I've always wanted to check how straight it actually is.

Metal is repairable if you have the skills and tools which fortunately I do.

And hey, I'm okay and no one else was hurt. I've just got a few aches and pains and dented pride.

Right...plan is strip the car to make it super light and turn it in a dedecated drag racer....

It needs loads of body work to make it mint and frankly I can't be arsed, so it's going to get jigged straight and transformed in a strip monster.

So all my nice interior bits are going to be for sale soon, watch this space.

Drag only, tracks means corners which result in more pain.

Going fast in a straight line will suit me fine and I have my RS2 to drive and enjoy.

How mad are you going to go with a drag car build?

To start with fairly tame, your old engine and the hybrid I'm building which should do about 470 BHP with a shed load of torque. This should be bloody quick in a totally stripped S2.

I'm then going to rebuild my old engine for a whole lot more inculding Nitrous, using custom pistons and rods with a goal of about 7/800BHP.

Going for an AAN inlet and as big an inter-cooler as I can make fit...for now.

Turbo to decided upon possibly a big Borg Warner, there again I may stay old school and go for 26/27/29 or a Holset.

Totally forgot Jameil, gave me a staight five speed front sunframe FOC, and it's in great condition.

I wanted a straight one as the front end took such a beating I don't trust the currunt subframe when it comes to jigging the car, which at the end of the day is just a case of pulling a turret 5mm or so down and a little out.

Charlie will assist me with job as it's one where you need two pairs of eyes, I need someone to watch whats happenig as I wind the tension up on the pullers and body jacks. I'll need to pull it past it's elastic limit slighly and hope it'll spings back where I want it.

At the end of the day I'll fix it it, it may take some time but I'll corrrect the structure to well within in tolerance's.

I've done it before with blocks of wood and a bottle jack so with suitable tools for the job I know I can get things where their should be.

And hey, insted of the car be crushed It'll live again......

Okay slightly differnt foramat, but I have an RS2 to restore which must be done propery.

After a closer look at the damage I've decided to claim on my insurance and start again with a differnt body.

If I repair it myself it shows as a total loss so as I have protected no claims I've decided it's best to take whatever they give me and start again, after all the good parts survived the smash.

Those two upgrades will add at least 100 bhp I expect mental wheels already has them fitted lol...
