So when do you think you'll have it finished?

    A new update:

Roof and rear panels are riveted and glued. Everything is primered and the underbody is coated with 3M.

Its 90% covered in primer. Next stage is to mount to panels and roof permanently.

I welded in a new panel under the front window. The old one had substantial rust on it. That also gave me the perfect oppertunity to weld in the rolcage struts to the firewall. After that I've put on epoxy primer. Looks nice and clean now

Indeed the welding is a real b*tch on these cars. You really have to clean everything miticulously before you put your welding helmet on. I've pulled my hair on this couple of times. Also make sure there is nu underbody coating nearby. When this is burnt it attracts moist. And the whole lot will rot like hell. I've had to replace a prior good piece of steel. This was rotten through within a year after welding :S
I'm so happy I'm on the home stretch with welding.
We sure need to have a mini meet with all the SQ's that are now on this forum.

The amount of welding you have to do on these things is crazy! Its also horrible to weld in some places, seems to have some sort of coating on the metal!

Hopefully when both our cars are finished we can have a race!

Jeff. It looks amazing. I love what you are doing with the drysump. I like the s2forum version of the SQ project. You have been neglecting MG as of late. Good looking IM!

The drysump drive pulley is a gilmer tooth pulley. The pulley on the drysump pump is also a gilmer tooth pulley. So these use a diferent belt type then the timing belt. The Gilmer drive pully will be machined quite substantially to be mounted on the cranckshaft and bolted on the timing belt pulley. This is how the 2 weheels will be connected. The camshaft pully has nothing to do with the drysump system.
