I looked at it a wee bit and found that FWD 7A driveshafts are the same as RS2 (part number). Can you confirm that the rear splines of the CQ are the same as SQ. I always thought that Ur-q and SQ used the same spline size.
I am under the impression that the passanger side Ur-q shaft will bolt up no problem, only the drivers side (left) is an issue (too short). I have a S2 shaft on its way from UK, plan is to change the outer joint to match the early slplines and use that with my 6-speed. Will let you know soon if that works.

I had some progress on our SQ conversion last weekend (no project thread here) but hopefully I'll be cutting her in half next couple of weeks. I also have buch of original SQ parts for my project, but hope to collect some more... if you have some spares let me know, I am also looking for the rare 16x9 speedlines.

    Thank you!

Looking great! The factory parts are great!
Quick Q, what driveshafts are you using with the 6-speed?

At the moment is the engine at the bottom of the priority list. Actually I've setup the 10V now with triggers, and with the 6speed gearbox. This will be put in the car first. This is because of road regulations...... (long story)

However the hardware is ready for the engine. I only need to weld the EM and IM.

The struts are actually bought as is. They are original Sport Quattro items. So I didn't want to modify them. As are the control arms. These are also genuine SQ.

Thanks Saltinot. The engine bay has four coatings. First is epoxy, second is primer, and last the colour with clearcoat.

Very, very nice Jeffer! You've really set the bar high. This project is motivation to finish my RS2 so I can move on to my '85 urq. When I do get the the uri, I'll have to thumb through your project pages again for some guidance on how to do it right.

I'm looking forward to more pictures of your beautiful car.

I'm afraid so. I can honestly say that everything is fabbed and done by myself.

However there are a 2 guys in particulair that earn a BIG thanks for their helping hands. Hans (the paint expert) and Maarten (friend and helping hand wich is always standing by).

First i'm going to make it all technically ok and operational. After that the outside will be painted, to minimise damages.
The colour is Nimbus grey, as found on the TT''s.

The car is looking superb with some paint on it! How long before you have the exterior done? Also you have probably said, but what colour is the exterior going?
