I`ve got some spare time on my hands so i thought i`d post some pics up. I only started work on the front end last week but managed to get the engine in the car, it seems to fit quite well apart from i dont think i`ll be able to get the front grill on as the cam pulley seems to sit right about flush with the front of the car but i think i can modify the back gearbox mounts on the subframe to pull the engine back an inch or two, hopefully without any adverse effects on the drive shafts. Also intercooler positioning is going to be a problem and the radiator is going in the boot.

Olso at the moment im giong to make some engine mounts coming off the space frame and maybe a crossmember with a snub mount but that depends on how rigid the engine mounts are.

I found space to be a premeum in the mk2 engine bay especially on the turbo side of the engine but the frame helps free up some space which will be needed to fit the GT35/40 turbo which hopefully arrives the end of this month.

Ok now just a few more pics, i took the engine out removed the subframe and modified the back gearbox mounts which basically moves the engine back 1.5" which makes it sit a lot better in the engine bay. The drive shafts are pushed back a little but i think it will be an ok comprimise and i also had to modify the subframe a little as you can see in the pics so that the sump doesnt hit it.
I orderd the polyurethane engine mounts from deemon tweeks which arrive soon then i can get on with mounting it solid and i hopefully will be retaining the snub mount. i also noticed when fitting the bumper that there is no room at all to fit a FMIC i have a few choices tho, one is to fit a double intercooler one in each wing and a crossover pipe in the bumper cavity or to fit a compact chargecooler unit or water injection or a combination of the above the radiator is going in the boot so was never a problem.
A few other things have been added on like the power steering rack, pedal box and steering rack which went in with a little bit if fiddling. The brake resovior just to say fits under the brace in the engine bay wich is nice .
Next on the list to do is fit all the pipework for the power steering, build the bulkhead up which i started around the pedal box fit the engine mounts and the gear linkage and the top mount plates are ready to go on with the spherical bearings installed.

Another update, it`s moving along slowly my main aim is to get all the welding done and strip the car for paint, then i`ll feel like im getting somewhere.
                              Finished things are.
1 The bulkhead is welded up.
2 All three polyurethane engine mounts are done including the snub mount.
3 The six speed gear linkage is installed and works.
4 The home made wishbones are installed and have their own little frame in the boot.

And there`s a whole load more to do but i wont make the reply too long.

                              I`ll keep the updates coming!
