  • Other downside to heat wrapping is it is highly flammable if it gets oil on it. A small oil leak from say RC gasket or something could end a disaster. I would go for ceramic coating, but thats an expensive process and for the gains, not sure if its worth it?

    • Yeh I've seen vids on the net of that happening.

Ceraminc coating is about 150 my downpipe has been coated by Graham and Tekkno in Belzona and then had wrap on top.

The EM and turbo hotside have also been ceramic coated inside and out

      • I was always told to avoid wrapping due to the danger of a melted exhaust ?!!

        • not sure about melting, but mild steel degrades quicker and normally drop apart after about 2-3 years. Stainless (and i mean 316 and above) wont melt and it wont rot.

                    • Just a thought - if your WG exhaust is dumping all its hot air infront of your front wheel, isn't that going to cause issues with overheating the brake setup on that side?

Damned impressive work, can't wait to hear it from West London when you fire it up in Banbury!

                        • the WG exhaust is plumbed into the downpipe for now.

the 3 taps on the DP are for EGT(with an adapter), wideband lambda and the stock lambda

                            • Just wondering why do you need two lambdas ? Was wondering also why you need two recirc valves?

I think its a safety measure when running high boost, 2bar+ i presume with Dougs car, incase one fails.
