Got the wheels out of storage and gave them a good scrub.

Cleaned the contact points at the back.

And the bolt seats.

And fitted them on the car.

Anyone know what the wheel silver colour is called? I have a couple of stone chips that could do with touching up.

Its a sign that everything you have done is good for it all to be bolting together smoothly and working pretty much first go.
I predict your first go at starting will be exactly that - few turns of the starter and away you go.

Thanks. I haven't checked the WUR but need to run the engine to do that properly.
One small leak is good news really after replacing everything.Leave a comment:

Thanks for taking the time to take photographs and upload them for us all to see. I, for one, definitely appreciate the time it all takes.Leave a comment:

We are good. All injectors are dry.
So new seals and a little Vaseline.

And then all back together.

So after lunch I came up with this from parts I had knocking about (as you do).

And we are good.
So ran the pump continuously and we have a nice healthy pressure.

Then I manually lifted the meter head flap and tested the injectors.

All have a nice fine spray pattern and are flowing within spec. Happy days. They do look fairly new but I wasn't looking forward to buying a new set at £40 each! Phew!
Then I needed to test the accumulator. I left the car for 30 minutes and it's still showing a healthy pressure.

Now. I'm leaving it with pressure for a few hours to see if any of the injectors are dripping.
Never done this before so pleased as to how it's going so far.

Nice.
So, onto pressure tests.
Everything set up to start. I fitted a little jumper switch on my newly installed fuel pump relay mod to make things easy and avoid switching on the ignition. Nothing much is connected inside the car yet.

Lucky I did this because after a few seconds of the pump running, I noticed petrol dripping from under the car.
It was coming from the input side banjo on the fuel filter. A quick tighten didn't help. I drained everything down and removed the banjo. Cleaned everything up and put two new washers on (again). Went for another go. Still leaking!
So pulled that section of pipe off. The banjo is an integral part of the pipe. There is some pitting on the outer edge.

So. Thinking head on. I have some 8bar expensive cohline fuel pipe the correct diameter and a few barbed fittings. Let's see what I can make.

So I did the fuel pump relay mod. Very easy when the wires are so close to the battery.

And got the fuel pressure test kit out.

And put 3 gallons of texaco best super unleaded in.

Nothing coming out underneath which is always a good sign.

That's a great tip.

Worked a treat.
